Chinese Shao-Lin Center of Raleigh: what do users think?
Wan T: Wonderful instructors
Ben Ferguson: Sifu Mo is the best!
Sophia Goss: Chill and no pressure. Perfect for if you're just starting out.
Chris Callado: What can I say about this instructor. He's a compassionate badass that's super patient and a top notch teacher. Great environment and friendly students.
James Lind: One of the best martial arts schools in North Carolina -- the most extensive curriculum available in Chinese martial arts anywhere
tima Ck: Great place to get exercise, learn self defense and mindful tai chi. Strange but true, This is where I choose to have my “me time”!!!. Fellow students are great, fun loving, relax but also disciplined.Sifu is one brilliant and patient guy, doesn’t matter which part of the form or which form you ask him or how many time you ask him, he always answer with smiles. On line material definitely help to retain/practice my learning!!!
Pamela Melton: My family and I have been coming to the Chinese Shao-Lin Center of Raleigh for almost 2 years now. There is never a dull moment and while we are genuinely practicing a great art, there is a lot of laughter and fun too. Everyone is incredibly supportive of each other. Sifu Mo is quite brilliant. His capacity for remembering all of the forms off the cuff when randomly asked, is astounding. He is patient, firm, knowledgeable and kind. I will happily recommend this school to anyone of any age or physical ability. It might not even be the Kung Fu that keeps you here, it may just be tai-chi. There is a lot on offer and there is enough to keep you very busy.
Raquel Carney: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueIs a great place to train, learn, and in the same time have a great exercise. Sifu Mo is a great instructor will answer your questions and always review with you.
Angela Coulter: My family and I have been going for more than 3 years... and love it! We were previously in tae kwon do and hap ki do for 7 years, and then at another kung fu school for a year; this has been a great leap forward.Constantly learning new styles, forms, weapons, techniques... and it's a great mind, body, spirit balance. Self-paced in the way that you decide when you want to test to new belt levels. With the variety of what's offered, we're never bored, that's for sure, and it's a great workout!Great Sifu, laid back and yet very knowledgeable and dedicated. And we have a great pool of peers we enjoy practicing with!
Mark K: I've been training in kung fu and wushu in various schools in the northeast for about 20 yrs and this school for about 3.- A uniform is required but rules are not rigorous. It falls in between the strictest school I've been in and a "shorts and tshirt" school.- The instructor is relaxed, patient and easy going but very knowledgeable. He will point out fine details if you ask.- There is A LOT of material coming at all times. It is a bit like getting a drink from a firehose sometimes. You will need to take notes after class. You won't get bored though.- Sparring is a semi-regular part of classes.- Tai-chi can be taken separately or with kung fu. Wooden man training is also separate. There are also many seminars and you can even travel to the other schools in the US for theirs. A few are required but most are optional but they are a separate fee. Prices are reasonable.- A wide variety of weapons is offered, something I rarely see in martial arts schools.- It shares a space with an exercise class (not at the same times of course) so the floor isn't padded which makes things like rolls hard on the body.- While there isn't a separate kid's class it is mostly adults with 1 or 2 kids in class at a time and it is never a problem.- Students are very supportive of each other with a pretty wide range of backgrounds. Some are novices and some with extensive training in other styles.
Confedyank: Been going for a little while, and it’s good place to practise Tai Chi & Kung Fu for health
Lisa Rose: My daughters and husband all attend here. They started with a free month. They do tai chi and Kung Fu for 13/mth per person for 3 days a week, 1.5 hours each day! The value is outstanding and the teacher (shi fu) is a monk, so the price is greatly reduced. My husband has done a variety of martial arts and is really enjoying the quiet, focused atmosphere. Great for ALL ages!

The physical exercise and variety of techniques makes the class instructive, insightful and enjoyable. Finally, the atmosphere, willingness to help the lower belts and comradery of all students enhances the experience. This is is a top-tier school with great leaders at the top and I would very strongly recommend it. I'm very glad I joined.
PATRICIA TOLLEY: Chris is an excellent teacher to the class tonight. He is thorough and a person of great knowledge. The young people there ranged from 6 to a few yrs. Older. Master Imari helps the students develop good habits, techniques and work ethic! Coach Louis is great at motivating the students during conditioning and exercise drills! Overall, we love the school and highly recommend it if you are looking for a martial arts program that is a great workout, inclusive community and and positive environment!
haley ahn: Master Imari and her crew offer quality classes at a very reasonable price. We especially like the Saturday classes at the park! We highly recommend!
Sean Frerking: Coach Imari has been amazing. She makes each class challenging but fun. My son loves going to his wushu classes and eagerly practices at home because of the great martial arts studio Coach Imari runs.
Neil Fox: Amazing spot for kung fu. People are excellent instructors and friendly. Great studio.
Jo Gaojian: I have so many positive things to say about East Cloud Kung Fu! Whether you are just starting your martial arts journey or wanting to continue mastering your skills, you should give this place a try. The instructors are kind and knowledgeable but they really will push you to do better. Also they are very accommodating of covid times and the live streams are well led. It's a great community and you will learn a lot if you join.
Doug Proudman: My boys attended Master Imari's Kung Fu classes for about a year and a half and loved every minute of it! The only reason we left is because we moved too far away. It was an hour packed with physical exercise, learning to work with others with respect, discipline, and of course learning to defend oneself. My boys loved working along with the other kids. We miss you, Master Imari.
Gerald Townsend: Great place for adults or kids to study Chinese martial arts.
houda el: My 3 children are attending classes with teacher Imari. Very nice experience 😊!
E Brown: Great physical fitness training in a positive atmosphere. My children have been attending classes here for 3 years. They have learned wushu (empty hand and weapons) and made good friends. Even though they work hard, they never want to miss class.
Muhammed Asim: It is an excellent place for kids to learn Chinese martial arts. Master Imari is really good with kids ....
Nicholas Lai: I love this center so much!
Bo He: It is real Chinese Kungfu!!! My kid love it so much!

Diane L.: My son is starting his third year here. He is learning long fist , sword and staff forms. Master Chen is a great teacher, demanding but fair and knowledgeable. He really care for his students.
Will Alexieff (R3VY): It is a great experience they actually care for what you and how you progress throughout the program and the master there is really funny

RDU Wing Chun: what do users think?
Omar Khalil: good place
Austin Kruger: I have been attending for a week and I have learned a lot. The sifu is extremely knowledgeable and is always very quick to correct mistakes to ensure that you aren't learning the wrong way. Also big shout out to Kevin who has taken the time to make me feel extremely welcome and feel as though I am part of the family. If you are considering Wing Chun in the Raleigh area then this is the spot.
Charles Taylor: I love this places
Chuck Schmidt: What a great school. Umm, I mean family. From the minute I walked in, I knew this was the right place for me. Hard work, dedication, respect and self-improvement are allowed to thrive and are core foundations. There are no posers at the school and you earn advancement by being diligent. Sifu and the senior students are most helpful in taking you on your journey.... this is the way martial arts should be taught.
Utpal Patel: RDU wing-chun is a practical martial art that really works on the street, but more important is the instructor (James Widmar) who truly brings out the best in each student. The school has a warm inviting environment where kung-fu becomes a part of your life by forming a habit and eventually a life-style. I highly recommend the school where one visit will leave you intrigued to unlock your hidden potential.
Jonathan Kennedy: Great school, lots of students, practical explanations of why and how something works or doesn't, working with so many students you get a nice feel for different sized opponents and those living in the area can really take your training far here if you truly apply yourself
Nathan Harris: Very welcoming environment. They are very gentle people (in the way they treat you as a beginner) and seem to actually want to help you without making you feel bad when You make mistakes. I respect the owner a lot and I’m very grateful for the way I’ve been welcomed.
Nitin Ajwani: this is by far the best place on the planet. I have been going to this school for sometimes now(on and off). The school gave me the discipline which translated to all areas of my life. I had lots of excuses like I was not in shape, not athletic enough, etc. The good thing about wing chun, and especially this teacher is that he will keep it original, but will also work with you one on one to tailor instructions to your needs(meaning clean up your weakpoints). Everyone is professional, and the teacher loves what he does, and you can see it in the way he teaches. I am probably the least athletic person I know but I feel after a training session, I can take on the world. It makes me want to improve in all areas of my life, and wing chun gives me that discipline, like the art is above all else.
Juliette Clancy: This place is amazing and everyone is really dedicated to this style of Kung fu. Definitely recommend for long term commitment.
Hazel wang: I joined the school 3 1/2 years ago and it has been a great experience. The instruction is personalized for each student and it keeps me moving forward at my pace. The wing Chun taught here is practical and straight forward. I like that we work with students of various skill levels so I can work on my level and review past techniques with junior students. Although I am not an advanced student I feel I can already use much of what I have already learned. Our instructors have a tremendous amount of experience with wing Chun and have a deep understanding of the art. I recommend it especially for those that want to learn how to take care of themselves against someone who is either bigger faster or stronger.
Tommy: Love this place! The teacher and staff are great people. Everyone works as a team and keeps you motivated. Trust you will get every bang for your buck. I always leave feeling more and more confident and in better shape. Thanks wing chun guys!
Abhay Shah: BEST Martial place and BEST Teacher & Seniors! Love training at this school!!!
Zelotis Woody, Jr.: Best Wing Chun in the area!!!
Matt Bourdon: Instructor is unprofessional and made his art look quite bad.

Master Chang's Martial Arts: what do users think?
Iliana Guadalupe Rodriguez Salinas: This place has offered a secure environment for our kids to learn and develop themselves in martial arts . Both of our boys love training there. It is a great place for kids to start but also to master this discipline . At a very young age they teach them mind, eye and body focus also respect and self confidence. The staff is very helpful and it makes huge difference to make the families feel welcomed.
Chris Thomas: My daughter went to her first Belt testing yesterday and it was phenomenal. The Master Chang’s North Ridge location is the best! My daughter has had a great experience so far not only learning martial arts but also they do alot of teaching on good moral values. The practices of dicipline, respect, confidence and goal setting have been great for my daughter. The support from Petra, Master Kim and the others has been phenomenal. They really love what they do and the passion seeps into the students. I’d 100% recommend for all ages! Thank you all for everything you do!
Lina Fitiani: Master Chang's Martial Arts is definitely the best place my kids go to these days! Not only did it work on their self-confidence and gymnastics, but it also taught them punctuality, balance, and body&mind focus. And the belt testing event is the cherry on top where my kids feel they earned it after all their training.Thank you Master Kim&Ms. Petra ❤️
Molly Groves: Master Changs has been amazing for our 5 year old! He’s gained confidence, has been more focused, and is really enjoying learning martial arts. He belt tested today and moved up a level! The belt testing was super organized and well planned! We are so happy with our experience!
Celina Parada: Mom, my son has more confidence in himself, has new friends, and is have been better in the school. This year we celebrated Birthday Party from my son and this was a amazing experience. The Master Y Kim is a excelent person, know the need in each child and is professional. Miss Petra is special person, they are a great team. Solo basta decir GRACIAS 😊🙏❤
Octavia Ross: This has been such an awesome experience for my son. I enjoy attending classes both watching and participating. He has accomplished a lot since joining. Master Y Kim and Ms Petra have been overly supportive and I truly appreciate it. Also during my sons birthday they set up the party, hosted, and cleaned. So awesome and stress free!!
Lauren Pritchett: My son has been coming to Tiger Tots class with Master Y Kim for 9 months now. The training has really improved his confidence. We love how we can transfer what he learns in class to home (eye focus, body focus, mind focus!) Petra is very communicative and kind to everyone. He just had his 4th birthday party there which was an absolute blast had by all. Master Y Kim and Petra really took care of everything!
Meg Andrea: We love Master Chang's. They are warm, welcoming, and make each person feel seen. My 6 + 10 year olds have been going to classes here for about a year and we just had an awesome birthday party for the youngest. 10/10 recommend this location!!
Erika Hutton: We love this studio! The staff is amazing and caring and creates a wonderful community/family environment—so positive! My daughter loves it.
Je suis Leslie: Awesome Martial Arts School!!! My son is 10 years old and he started classes for the first time this past summer. Best decision we did. He is improving his behavior at home and school. Gaining self control and perseverance in what he does. Master Kim truly cares about his students. Teaching with patience and sense of humor. Miss Petra is a beautiful person, ready to help and serves with diligence and love. Thank you!!!
John Rainey: I started by bringing my nephews to class and was so impressed that I joined as a student self. Master Y Kim is an amazing instructor and everyone learns properly because of his teaching skills and patience. Ms. Petra is a fantastic program manager and makes the experience enjoyable and easy.
glacies: I think that the Master Chang’s North Ridge location is the best environment for a kid to be in because of the supporting adults surrounding MCMA as well as the life skills that are promoted during classes. Simple skills like how to respect your parents, how to focus on your homework, how to have confidence, etc are all taught during these classes so kids can take these skills throughout their lives. Not to mention the other children are all rooting for the success of others, constantly uplifting one another. This is definitely a place where you want your child to be.
Bobby Koo: Everyone at Master Chang’s Martial Arts have been wonderful. They provide a fun, encouraging and structured path to learning martial arts. Beyond just the technical, they also reinforce important soft skills- teamwork, discipline, leadership, focus, kindness. We are very happy to be a part of this group!
Megan Farrelly: MCMA North Ridge is a most cherished gift to the Raleigh community. Our son has thrived under MCMA’s guidance—not just as a student of TKD, but also in becoming a caring, conscientious, disciplined, and motivated young man. Thank you Master WK and Petra!
Michael Bray: My family is extremely grateful for Master Chang's! It's a great environment for children and family. Excellent staff and an unmatched experience!
Quynh Xayarath: Our son has LOVED attending tae kwon do here. I’m impressed at how their Tiger Tots program is run. The toddlers are focused and class time is spent learning new skills and practicing learned skills versus waiting around for everyone to focus and pay attention. The master works well with the kids and it’s a very welcoming environment that makes the kids feel safe to participate.
Nicole Feehely: Master Changs has been such a wonderful experience for our child. It helps with confidence and focus. Highly recommend!!
Mark Carlin: My two (2) children have been at this location since February. The entire staff shows incredible joy and positive energy each and every class. Master Wright really enjoys what he does and is awesome will all his students. Ms. Dalia has been great and resourceful anytime we had questions/or need assistance with anything.
Erika Larson: I can't say enough about how this experience has been life changing for my teen son. He went from being uninterested in most things outside of video games, to having a whole new drive to be successful with Taekwondo! He started in May 2022 and by July he was in the Black Belt Program working toward a series of goals.Master Chang's instructors teach not only TKD, but also Korean words, and values. Each week is a new value such as respect, patience, discipline, and they teach the students about it with kindness and compassion. The students are encouraged to share their thoughts on how to show these values as well.We have been so incredibly happy with our experience and look forward to many years with Master Chang's !
Michael Massey: Our son has been attending Master Chang’s TKD at North Ridge since he was 3 and he LOVES Master Y Kim, Ms. Petra and Master Seo (when she was at North Ridge). The level of care, nurturing and teaching is second to none. Our son wouldn’t be the confident child he is without their support and guidance. There is a true family atmosphere and we are honored to be a part of it. There is a focus on fundamentals rather than belt progression. Can’t recommend enough.
Jerluis Rodriguez: What isn't there to share about this wonderful environment of Martial Arts. It's a wonderful experience with great knowledge, education and discipline. My youngest is currently 4 and is in the tiger tots class. It's helped him develop multiple skills that he didn't have before now he will be joining his 6 year old brother who's in the black belt program with myself. So it's a amazing overall experience for you to be able to enjoy watching your children learn, help them find enter peace, mind, body and eye focus 😊My oldest son was failing kindergarten with lots of 2's in his report card and as time went on he managed to earn 3's and ended the year with almost all 3's it's a great overall experience even within the school district for kids.I am beyond proud to be one of the newest members to have had joined the class as a father figure and from there forward I've seen over 5 other parents enroll so please don't be shy this is meant for everyone not just the children.I overall have been out of shape for 12 years and am currently overweight. I decided that instead of enrolling in a gym membership that would be costly regardless that I'd take the chances and join my children's journey and do it together until we accomplish our goals 💪🏽 this isn't meant only for people who are physically fit this is also meant for the ones who are mentally capable of trying to better themselves. So please come join us give it a trial and I guarantee you that you will enjoy it.Please feel free to ask for JERLUIS if your shy and want assistance I will be more then happy to help.
