Karate International of West Raleigh: what do users think?
Alex L: We have been coming to Karate International of West Raleigh for a little over a month now, and my son loves it! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, the instructors are great teachers and mentors, and I have already seen a difference in my son's confidence and skills. Would definitely recommend this institution to any parent!
gilbert sanchez: One of the best martial arts school in NC. I would recommend anyone that is looking to learn karate to come in and train with us. I have been here for a couple of years and every class I learn something different. KIWR to me it’s much more than just learning how to defend yourself, it’s much more than just striking. KIWR has given me the confidence I never had before, I grew so much as person that my family and friends see the positive change in me.
kevin bergeron: From the first day Mr Weinberger had myself and my 2 younger boys (11 & 12) engaged. We were immediately introduced to blocks, punches and kicks. Our class time flys bye. Whats great is the app has videos of everything we review so we can practice at home too. I was really impressed with how well he communicates with the students of all ages. The more experienced students are given the chance to take leadership. I already see the level of confidence in my boys elevated. We plan to be a member of this dojo for a long time.
Lauryn Fairweather: I started as a beginner on a trail and was impressed with how welcoming the environment was. I'm excited to continue for years to come
Parameshwari Alagar: Special Thanks to Karate International of West Raleigh. This is our first year here.I love the fact that they are kind, patient & serious with the kids which I appreciate as kids come to learn. Parents who want their child to learn self-defense, discipline and social skills then this is the right place. I am very grateful that my son got such a dedicated trainer & thank them for the wonderful job they do. He looks forwards to his lessons. Their respect shown towards every single parents / grandparent is highly appreciated.
Angela Boyette: We absolutely love Karate International.Morgan's confidence has grown with everything she does because of her classes here. She also stops bullying at schoolThe staff is awesome!
Melissa Castaneda: I really wanted to find a an activity for my son that he would enjoy so he decided he wanted to do karate. Since day one he has loved it and I love the values that are taught with this discipline. He loves coming every week and making new friends. Teachers are super nice and understanding with all kids.
Phong H: The instructors are knowledgeable and experienced. They are great with kids and adults! I would highly recommend this dojo for all ages and skill levels.
Kevin Wells: Im a student that has been coming here since December, and its been an amazing experience. I joined this place when I lived close to there, but now I live 40 minutes and still go to there because of the amazing people.
Brandon Cox: I’ve been very impressed with the karate program for pre-schoolers. My son LOVES karate class. The staff is helpful and great with kids.
Kim Cannan: Our children enjoy going to KI West Raleigh! Always a positive atmosphere with great lessons. We appreciate the knowledge, consistency, and humor brought to each class by the instructors as well as the diversity of the classes.
JASON NGUYEN: Such a nice place for kids to learn Karate, my son loved coming here for lessons, highly recommended to anyone/kids/parents.
Nicole Pavlus: We love being a part of the KI family. My daughter Veda asks to go to Karate every night. Mr. Tsikos is amazing with the kids teaching them not only Karate but valuable life lessons. I admire the patience and understanding given to the children. As I watch the lessons I know I've made the right choice in helping my daugther become a better human.
Viktoria Anguelov: My son loves going to karate. He has ADHD and I can tell a difference after we started going. In only 6 months he's got 3 belts (white, yellow and blue). He loves helping set up the ninja trail. The instructors are great with the kids. They take their time with them, they teach them life skills, how to respect everyone, and much more. I definitely recommend.
maria praschma: Everything about Karate International of WR has exceeded our expectations! Truly. At first my daughter loved the idea of karate because of the outfit. I found an add on Facebook and thought, why not give it a shot to keep her active. I took advantage of the week trial. All the instructors there had such enthusiastic attitudes and high energy. The kids all come in with lots of energy and the instructors make it fun and encouraging. By the end of the class, the kids are walking out smiling and giggling after about an hour of working out! My daughter started to get tired before going to class after a long day at school, but as soon as she steps inside she is excited to learn a new technique. We are a month in now and I see such progress within herself. She’s looking forward to earning her next belt. Thank you to all the instructors, it’s been quite entertaining to watch you all with the kids.
Tonya Cooks: Mr. Rowe and his whole crew are Amazing, I don't think I could put into words how great they are and not just with children but with Adults as well! They put 110% of their hearts into their training. My son Derrian didn't even want to do karate at first and after just one week he could not get enough and now he is in the Black Belt Club!!!! I have so much Gratitude for everyone at International Karate West Raliegh!
Angelica Matthews our: One of the best things that has happened for my son this year is joining the amazing KI program. He has fun all while learning valuable life lessons. The instructors are awesome. I highly recommend KI!
Mehul Trivedi: These guys are awesome. They are dedicated and passionate about karate. You can tell from the moment you walk in and speak to any of the instructors. The head instructor is amazing and his enthusiasm carries into the kids at every class. My 6-year-old is upset if she misses the class and this is the only practice that she's want to go to lol. I highly recommend them.
J S: Our son Jacob has been going to KI International of West Raleigh for almost 2 years. The instructors are top notch and have great way with kids. The classes develop technical skills in karate as well as teach valuable life skills (handling bully situation, leading by example, respect, teamwork, just to name a few). It's a great way for kids to develop physically & mentally and all in great & very supportive environment.
Brion Unger: We starting taking our kids to KI about 3 months ago and it's been the best decision. Our kids love it and want to go to class every day. The team here is great with the kids and they are learning some valuable life lessons all while having lots of fun. Highly recommend!
Eugene DeCourcey: Great atmosphere and family friendly.Focused on the essentials for karate to include pillars of home and karate. Have been coming here with my soon to be son in the teens and adult karate classes He loves the structure, fun, and the ability to excel with his peers. He is a take charge kid or teenager and will be efit from Sensei Rowe's instruction and ability to draw strength from interaction.Caveats which stand out and make Karate International of West Raleigh great include: their focus on discipline, respect, honoring commitments in and out of the dojo, as well as a clean safe environment to learn.I like the fact that parents' instructions are clear, concise, and to the point. Instruction is designed in that it can be completed at home to practice what is learned in classroom instruction or in class step by step with students ability to quickly grasp the different skills and expand them. This is a great place to excel, make friends, and is value oriented.

Lee Brothers Martial Arts: what do users think?
Roxette Pérez: My daughter has attended at Lee Brothers since 2020, she was 6y/o when she started this path. I’m very satisfied with the treatment she receives from their master and instructors, they are professional, friendly and respectfully. She is excited to get her first degree as Junior Deputy Black Belt 🥋it’s not an easy path, but their instructor help her to achieve her goals everyday. Thanks everyone at Lee Brothers Tae Kwon Do 🙂.
Andrea McBride: Lee Brothers is the BEST. My children love it here. The instructors are very kind and respectful of the children as individuals; they treat them well. The Masters get to know each child so they can bring them to their own highest level of success, not force them to fit the average of the group. I strongly encourage you to try this school before signing up anywhere else.
Jeweleon Jones: Engaged, thoughtful, experienced and caring instructors have been a gift to our child. Thankful to have found this community and would highly recommend it!
Bob Kratzer: I've seen my grandson listen, focus, pay attention better, and grow into a respectful young man while being physically active and learning Tae Kwon Do. My grandson has made friends with many of the school's students. The instructors are friendly, kind and respectful to everyone. This is and has been a big influence in my grandson's personal growth, making him a better person.
Adama Jammeh: Perfect environment for families, instructors are awesome, patient, professional and helpful….I see great changes with child’s confidence, discipline and potential since he started classes with them. I recommend Lee Brothers to all 100%.
Esmeralda Dowdy: Positive:ProfessionalismFor so long I’m looking for a place like that for my 10 years old boy , finally he is on a nice, secure and positive place .
Daniel Cantero: Best place to learn martial arts and a great atmosphere to learn and make friends. The price is ver accessible.
Bobby Fields: I have been a member with family since 2018. Grand Master Lee, The other Masters and instructors are incrediable teachers and friends. It is one big family all working together to help you acheive your personal goals. Their didication to their students is amazing. I highly recommend this authentic Taekwondo/hapkido Dojo for your martial arts training.
Anna Gaines: This place is absolutely amazing! My boys and I have enjoyed our experience so far and just adore all of the instructors. Master Lee has a great presence in the gym, The instructors really take the time to make sure that you feel comfortable with movements. I love how there are teenaged-instructors that help teach the classes for the littles and offer mentorship. Highly recommend this place!
Andi Chappell: I have been taking my little one since a few days past his 4th birthday. He had been struggling with his emotions - acting out, misbehaving, and treating himself and others in a dangerous way. He had a therapist and IEP teacher and while both were good for him, I knew he needed something else (he had so much anger built up inside his tiny body). With lots of counseling and meetings with his preschool teachers, one suggested I look into Tae Kwon Do. There’s lots of places in the Raleigh area so narrowing it down was hard - what took to me initially is that Lee Brothers doesn’t have a max amount of classes you can take (or say this age group only meets one day a week at this time) so class wise, you “get your moneys worth” if looking at it with a financial view. After the trial class, I decided to give it a shot and I’m so glad I did.Little man is now 7. The discipline they teach the kids (and adults too) is outstanding. While he still acts out on occasion, the dangerous misbehavior has really become a thing of the past. He makes great grades in school, understands when someone is hurt, and best of all he’s able to channel all his negative emotions into this sport. Five stars just isn’t enough by how much I have to thank Master Lee and all staff at Lee Brothers. All the things that little man has accomplished are a big kudos to them. 💜
Deisy R.: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Michael Najm: Simply the best!
Chester Ullrich: So lucky to find this place, my kids even got me to join. It’s our family’s thing. I wouldn’t change it. 😊The staff will learn your kids names and treat them as accountable little humans. It is such a great confidence builder for them. My kids always leave there with a smile.Me on the other hand, I usually leave sweaty and tired but enjoying the look on my kids faces. Thanks everyone, at Lee Brothers!
Vickie Koch: My husband and I enrolled our grandson at Lee Brothers Taekwondo so that he could learn self-defense. Little did we know at the time that this program offers so much more than that. The incredible instructors help teach the students about respecting others and being kind to others, all while learning many more life skills. They encourage the students to be the very best that they can be in all areas including getting good grades and keeping their rooms clean. We are so happy that we made this decision for our grandson. There is no better Martial Arts facility than Lee Brothers!
Anne Reel: LeeBrothers TKD family will not disappoint. I speak as a parent of a highly active child who learned to calm his inner wild. We started out with white belt classes and the after school program. They pick up the kids from school and help them complete homework and go to TKD class. Our son loved it so much he wanted to come for Track out camp ( or Summer camp). Lee Brothers promotes and repeats self respect, discipline and confidence with their students. Master Lee has such a special reciprocal respect with each student that he earned through consistent POSITIVE reinforcement. Great Summer camp option- they do everything from martial arts, swimming, cooking, museums, field trips, and each week has a fun theme! HIGHLY recommend.
Keith Langbo: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueWe are extremely grateful for Master Lee and the team at Lee Brothers. They have been a large part of our family for the past decade and we hope to continue for decades more.
Shawn MacArthur: Lee Brothers is an awesome Martial Arts studio. I have taken Martial Arts at many studios over the years and Lee Brothers is great. A very family friendly, fun environment, but still very serious on the topics they teach. Couldn't speak more highly of them. Master Lee and all of the instructors are great.
Dale Brunelle: Lee Brothers, Master Lee, and all the instructors are an important part of our extended family network. Their caring, engaging, and encouraging approach to teaching Tae Kwon Do has been instrumental to our daughter's development - not only as a burgeoning martial artist, but also as a confident (and sometimes intensely fierce!) young woman. Their teaching goes beyond forms and techniques, extending into family values, respect, and global citizenry. Since returning after a COVIC pause, she's been welcomed back and has regained an important aspect of her sense of community of friends and teachers as well as skills development. She feels loved and supported and their lesson schedule is very flexible which helps accommodate busy families. We are extremely happy with our experience thus far as part of the Lee Brothers community and look forward to several more years there.
David Catalano: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueLee Brothers is a family that you become part of the moment you walk in the facility. I have been in and out of martial arts for over 40 years and could not be more impressed with the quality of training and personal attention I receive there. Highly recommended!
Kristina Brunelle: Our daughter has had a fabulous experience at Lee Brothers over the past 5 years. She is now a fifth grader and we are convinced that her Taekwondo training is largely responsible for her self confidence and ability to focus. Her teachers have all been warm, positive and encouraging while also helping her to strive for excellence in her practice - which also affects her life in positive ways outside of class.Master Lee and his staff are consummate professionals who truly understand how to motivate children and make things fun and interesting. They are excellent at communicating about classes, school-related activities, summer and track-out camps, and after-school care, not to mention all the complications that Covid has brought to each of them.Masks are worn by all students, staff, instructor, and parents and there have been zero cases since the pandemic started. If you are looking for a marvelous experience for your child (or yourself!) that provides an opportunity for physical activity, fun, focus, discipline, camaraderie, and a welcoming community, there is nowhere our family would recommend more highly than Lee Brothers.
Greg Duckworth: Positive:ProfessionalismI had been an attending member at Lee Brothers TKD for around 10 years and I found the staff to be very knowledgeable, kind, and fair. The DoJuhng is always clean. I loved it there. The kids program is the best.

Tony Spencer: New management seem great!I'm so happy to have found this place. Extremely well run. My son loves going and the change in his focus was amazing and occurred within the first week. Most of all I love that Master Park and crew are the exact opposite of the "trophy for everyone" mentality. Kids truly must earn it here and they are required to show respect as they work toward their goals. Excellent!
Leonora Barden: My daughter and myself love this place! This Martial Arts Academy has helped my daughter with the very discipline and structure that kids need at her age.She has learned so much and for that , I am happy!

Traditional Shorin-Ryu Karate-Do of Raleigh: what do users think?
Imani S. Owens, Ph.D.: This is a great place for kids to learn Okinawan style karate. The instructor exhibits patience with beginners and insist on excellence for the more experienced. Sensei Bulow graciously shares his experience with the children and exposes them to additional guest instructors. Children must earn belts. This is not a belt factory; however, children are given enough support to do their best. Quite pleased!
Paola Milena Acuña Acuña: I love this place and I highly recommend it. Kids get personalized and high quality training for reasonable price. Perfect mind-body-soul connection for all ages. Alone with karate to keep body and mind in shape, Sensei Bulow teaches important life values that enrich the soul. ☺ That's priceless! My son has benefited a lot from his classes especially gaining more self confidence and respect for others. 🤗
Angela Sampson: My kids love going to karate class! It all because of Sensei Bulow's instruction. He is a skilled Black belt who takes time to work with my kids to show them proper karate technique. You can't "buy a belt" at his dojo; he makes you earn it with regimented exercise and authentic katas that show true karate form. Sensei Bulow has a newsletter that keeps me informed of all events. His prices are also better than local dojos.
K F: This is a small, traditional okinawan style karate school. The teacher is knowledgeable, competent and flexible. He is always talking about what is practical versus what is practiced. He is safe and really focuses on quality kata. While he follows the traditional shorin ryu system, he freely discusses different perspectives/interpretations on various moves and is happy to to try them out. He holds extra classes during the month to focus on different skills and teaches weapons too. The age at the school varies. He is always showing us how to adjust movements based on our age/ability level (someone at 47 may not have flexibility to allow certain movements versus a 16 year old). It's been a very positive experience.

Amy Koch: We love Fighting Tigers Karate! Sensei George is very knowledgeable and provides lots of individual attention to all of his students. He has helped my sons develop confidence and discipline in addition to karate skills and knowledge.
Victoria Cater: Our family recently relocated to Raleigh. Our children were studying karate in NY and FT was recommended to us by our Sensei in NY.Sensei George and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and attentive. The classes are dynamic and challenging. The students are taught all aspects of this particular style of karate which has given our boys a true sense of understanding and appreciation of what they are learning. We feel very extremely fortunate to be a part of the FT community.
Danielle Pender: This is a wonderful family oriented karate school. It is really great for the kids and for the adults. My kids started first and then I joined them. I love that we have this activity that we can share as a family. I love it for myself - I have a great enthusiam for this style of karate. The karate instructors are personable and knowledgeable. We have also made great friends here.
Danny Andrews: This is a family owned and run business. When you train here you become part of the family and laugh and joke while you workout.I have observed the other classes and watched the camaraderie even when the workout has been tough.
