Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy of Raleigh: what do users think?
Jake Donovan: Started here about 4 weeks ago. I have been taking Jiu Jitsu and Judo. Instructors are great in both Jiu Jitsu and Judo. There are plenty of classes offered during the week for Jiu Jitsu and twice for Judo. Everyone is very friendly and it feels like a large family. I have had a ton of fun taking classes at Royce Gracie in Raleigh.
Ranbir Bakhshi: I have been training here for a couple of months and have been learning more and more each week.Billy does an awesome job teaching Jiu Jitsu, very knowledgable and has a great sense of humor. Doesn't make you feel uncomfortable when asking questions.Great group and culture at this gym!
Elias Everett: Top level academy. Very clean and professional. Billy is a very knowledgeable, welcoming instructor.
Michael Cote: I started about 6 months ago and I've both really liked it and feel as if I've improved a lot. I've only done the jiu jitsu classes because it best fits my schedule but you can take advantage of judo, kick boxing, etc as well. My son goes to the kid classes and loves it. Both the adult and the kid coaches are really good. I go to both the morning (6 AM classes) and the afternoon/night classes and the instruction is excellent in each one. Coaches will definitely take time to answer questions and make sure you understand and are doing things correctly. I've also never felt like the place is unsafe. Everyone is incredibly nice, willing to answer questions, and no one is trying to crank out moves.
Chuck Chapa: Billy and Patches are awesome! Excellent facility, training, coaching, and staff. My daughter and I love to and are proud to train at the Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy Of Raleigh!
Chris Edl: I can't say enough good things about this academy. It's a legit facility with a great staff and the teachers are top-notch. The cool thing is a membership doesn't limit you to just Jiu Jitsu; you can also do kickboxing and judo. So with that said, I've definitely been getting my money's worth going up and doing what's available, whenever I can. Give it a shot and see if it's for you too.
Ken Schult: Excellent Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym; coaches are knowledgeable and supportive, with an overall positive approach to this martial art. I've been taking my grandson here for more than a year, after one of my sons, who also trains at RGJJ, recommended it. They have great kids classes and a clean & hygienic environment. Highly recommended.
Michael Bennett: What I can’t believe is real is the fact that they offer Gracie BJJ, Judo, and Muay Thai kickboxing. 3 separate programs, all included in your membership, and they all flow together well. The instructors for each are very high quality. Just how they don’t just “hand out” stripes and belts, I don’t just hand out 5 star reviews. I’ve been looking for the right place to train, and this is it for sure.
Brad Rogerson: Started here about 2 months ago as a fresh white belt. After having been an athlete my whole life and never trying Jiu Jitsu...I'm glad I choose this as the start to my journey.I have done free classes at other gyms and they are all great, but this one seemed to fit a style I liked."Patches" who runs the front desk made me feel at home immediately and gave me a rad team mom kinda vibe. She also did a great job educating me on how things work to make sure I was comfortable there.Other places I have been did not have such a dialed in structure and focus on their students the way I have experienced.I can only speak for lower experienced students... But the beginner classes I'm going to, everyone is have a really good time. I am meeting lots of cool new people and learning faster than I would have thought.I would say if you want to try it out...Don't be shy, enjoy the experience of being new, the more advanced girls and guys are super supportive in helping to new crowd!
Roma Sushyk: Almost first month in, great space, solid instructor, awesome atmosphere.Highly recommend.
Sean Witty: Been there four months w/ my son and love it. Instructors help each person with what they want to learn and respect everyone's goals. It's not a belt factory, nor is there an emphasis on testing - you get out what you put in. Billy (and others) always take time to answer questions, explain, and give individual attention. Kids program is fantastic - teachers push the kids at a good pace and get them comfortable with each step. My son has TONS more confidence and ability than when he walked in. 100% great experience!
Giovanni Ford: Been away from the area, due to work schedule! Came by the gym and it felt like I never left! Awesome atmosphere and instruction!
Frank Shaw: 10/10, such a welcoming and positive place. Staff and students are awesome all around
Eric Moran: Amazing instructors! Great energy. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a real mixed martial arts experience
Joe Miller: The coaches are friendly, very encouraging and do a great job to give special attention to all of the students. From Peaches (mascot) upon entry, to Patches remembering EVERYONE’S name, they make you feel welcome. The instruction is structured and works to advance the students and build confidence.
Vicky Wang: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismMy boy is 8 and has no material art experience before, we just started it last month. As we just came back from the class tonight, he is not scared to defend himself anymore. I definitely see the improvement!
Rabih Richa: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Steven Fowler: Every facet of my experience here has been excellent. The instructors are top-notch and everyone is helpful. Fellow, more experienced students want you to succeed and learn how to get better. Can't recommend enough.
Mustafa oudeh: Absolutely love this gym! Everyone is so kind and they care about their students. Billy is a great teacher. Thank you
Alex Davis: I have been training here for a little over 5 years and it is truly one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I'll tell anyone who asks that I came for the Jiu Jitsu and I stayed for the people. You will not find higher caliber people anywhere else, nor will you find a group of people and instructors who are as invested in your success, not only jiu jitsu but also in life, as the people at Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy of Raleigh. If you're thinking about joining or trying it out, don't waste another minute and just show up, you won't regret it.
Jason O'Briant: We enrolled our son in the kids class 6 months ago and the speed of his progress is really staggering. The majority of the credit must go to Rashaun the lead kids' coach. He has a special talent communicating with children and getting the most effort out of them. He both challenges and pushes them. I find his approach very refreshing. I've witnessed tremendous changes in all the other students in the class as well.Billy, the owner, his partner, and Peaches (gym dog) are always there to welcome you, chat about the day, and sets the tone and culture of the school through his leadership. Oh, and back to Peaches...Billy rescued her, and there should be a whole separate post here about Peaches!Despite being in a building with any number of highly trained and skilled martial artist, it's one of the most friendly environments for learning and exploring personal growth. But, please don't conflate friendly with easy. The kids are working, and it's not always easy, but they're learning how to defend themselves. It's a challenging endeavor that few actually know how to do. Kids here certainly will.

Gracie Raleigh: what do users think?
Gavin Gaspar: I was in town for business looking for a place to train. The academy was great. The jujitsu was technical and everyone was friendly. I highly recommend training there. I look forward to stopping by again. JLG
Paige Farley: My sister and I took a self-defense class with Karl at Gracie Raleigh, and it was incredibly useful, engaging, informative, and helpful. Karl was extremely communicative, knowledgeable, kind, and exceeded our expectations beyond measure. He taught us so much and made us feel so comfortable. You could tell that he truly cares about what he does, and he went above and beyond to make our experience a helpful and positive one. We can’t thank you enough!
Amir McClain: I stared to attend classes about a month ago when my Uncle recommended I come and it has been an amazing experience for sure. All the coaches are amazing and work with you one whatever you need help on or want to work on. I would definitely recommend coming and joining this great program and team! You will not only have a great time but will see results!
Jeff Brinkman: I had the opportunity to drop in tonight. It’s a great facility, with a welcoming environment. The instructions was top notch, breaking down techniques to make them applicable for upper level belts but keeping them simple enough for the white belts to become comfortable with them.I’ll definitely be stopping in the next time I’m in town.
Dan Almond: Gracie Raleigh is a great place to learn. The community they have established is very welcoming and the instructors are awesome. If you are looking for a place to get started on your path in learning BJJ, I would highly recommend it.
Jessica Sullivan: Can’t say enough good things about this gym. My 8 year old son takes Brazilian jiujitsu and the coaches are second to none. The energy coach Thom brings in the room keeps everyone so engaged and excited to be there. Not only that but they take a real interest in the kids and train them not just for bjj but for life. They teach them they are leaders in their community and “10 ft tall” They command respect and teach discipline with a firm hand but also so kind and caring at the same time. Greyson, Karl and Thom are treasures and my kids a better person from training with them.
Colin Kiser: I'd been waiting to train BJJ for years, and finally pulled the trigger at Gracie Raleigh 2 months ago, along with my 7 yr old son. Though the gym has many positives, I've specifically enjoyed the overall culture or learning, support, and friendliness (particularly towards newbies). This is key when you're choking one another out... I feel comfortable and excited to go to class every time. The gym is welcoming, safe for kids, and CLEAN. The new location is baller. Props to the team.
Noah Pope: Welcoming environment. Knowledgeable instructors. Highly recommend.
Donald Dickey: Great workout for Muay Thai!
Alan Grubner: feel lucky i had the chance to drop in for the trial kickboxing class. this place is awesome. really appreciated the vibe & instruction. if i lived here, i’d join up for sure! big thx!
Thomas Garner: I've really enjoyed my experience so far at Gracie Raleigh. The coaches are all very respectful, knowledgeable and passionate. I was truly amazed at the level of detail in every instructional. My confidence as a person and as someone who can defend myself and my family has really grown since attending. The gym is kept clean and things are always in order. Everyone at the gym has been friendly and welcoming. They're building a beautiful new gym down the road, which will be opening soon. Gracie Raleigh is top notch!
Philip Lester: Just started coming here a few weeks ago. Great experience so far and overall the staff has been super helpful/welcoming. Members have a wide range of skill levels making it great to find sparring partners. Kicking pads while listening to 90s hip hop has definitely been the highlight so far.
Luis Lopez: Started at Gracie in 2017 and attended thru 2019 I'm looking forward to going back. The coaches are awesome, the people is great and always willing to help. If you want an environment where you feel welcome every time you step thru the door this is the place. Hope to start over this 2022!
Michael Raimo: Had a great time at Gracie Raleigh this past Saturday. I hadn't done Jiu-Jitsu in over 4 years and everyone was welcoming and respectful. Had a great workout and was able to refresh some old skills. Really recommend this gym to anyone who is looking to get into BJJ.
Steve Sieminkewicz: I’ve been training Jiu-Jitsu here for a couple months now and am very much enjoying my training. The coaches I’m learning from, the other students, and the gym culture are all great. There is so much to learn and I am always looking forward to the next class!
Alexander Gray: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueStarted coming to BJJ classes a month ago. Have done about ten classes so far. Love everything about the way the gym operates. The instructors remember the students even though every class is 30+ people. If you want to learn in a comfortable but structured environment from top quality coaches look no further.
Patrick Doyle: Positive:QualityAwesome gym. Really enjoyed training here. Instructors are all very high quality and it's a friendly atmosphere with some great people.
Will Reuther: After moving to NC and researching different schools in the area I landed on Gracie Raleigh, and I’m really happy I did. It’s a place where I know I can always come to focus and learn. The instructors here pull from real world experience and competition, and they know how to break down Jiu jitsu into bite sized pieces. I think the best part of this group is that you can train at whatever level you want. If you want to be competitive you can find that here, if you want to focus on your fitness or if you‘re just starting and want to try it out, you will find people that are interested in the same thing and on the same level as you. It’s an all around welcoming environment. They also have an awesome kids program here. It’s really cool to see a school that genuinely enjoys teaching younger kids about grappling/jiu Jitsu, and the parents are excited about it too.Hopefully this helps, I would definitely recommend this place!
Heather Marks: The youth program here is wonderful!
Ethan Williams: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI love training here! The atmosphere is always friendly and the variety of classes and people is sure to help with all aspects of combat sports and self defense. if your ever wanting to learn a new skill, meet great people, and get in shape i definitely recommend Gracie Raleigh.
Vytautas Smetona: Gracie fundamental classes are very beginner friendly and the coaches are very knowledgeable. Classes have a good mix of self defense techniques and sport Jiu jitsu.

Pendergrass Academy of Martial Arts: what do users think?
Lisa Killion: My son enjoyed his week of summer camp so much! He said the coaches were so helpful and friendly. He demonstrated some of his new skills to me and I can attest that he learned a lot!
Vern Jensen: Great club with awesome people and instruction. Thank you.
Jesse S.: Always friendly and professional. I signed my son up for their kids BJJ courses.
Jessica Donahue: Love them!
Jared Ream: They are super personable, and you can tell they care about every student. The awesome instructors and Ms Sue at the desk knew the name of everyone who walked through the door. I checked out classes before moving to the area, and I was very impressed!
Eric Hardin: PAMA has been a great place for me. I’ve been training here almost a year. I’ve trained at three other Raleigh gyms over the last 12 years and PAMA is by far my best experience. Rob and Guy keep up with bjj trends and teach modern sport-oriented bjj although there are self-defense oriented classes too if that’s your motivation. They have no gi classes too. They’re funny and play good music too, not that that’s why you choose a gym but it helps. The facilities are nice and clean. The culture is friendly. The club size is good - it’s big enough that you get a diversity of training partners but small enough that your instructors know you. There are several classes a day/week so it’s easy to find a time that works even when my schedule changes. They’re very good with the business side of things too. For example, they have auto payment options, they have an app with a lot of their own content, they have a gear store, they have a lot of events for kids and the community, and their communication is great. They always keep you informed of what’s going on via email and text. They’ll even text you if you don’t show up for a while and send you a card on your birthday, which is just above and beyond. There’s no drama or weird uncertainty that you get at some gyms. I only have good things to say.
Stephen Vignere: Visiting family, and came across PAMA and a few others. After a few phone calls, I decided to stick here when here to see family, and it’s a great place! Very clean and organized with great instruction. No easy rolls, but no crazy egos. Great place!
Grant Radding: Best place to learn jujitsu and Muay Thai. I have been going here for a few months now and have learned so much. The gym is great for Both experienced practitioners and Beginners. The staff is very friendly and does an amazing job catering to everyone’s needs. PAMA is honestly one of the best gyms in the triangle.
Lana Davis: Our son loves PAMA and it has helped him in so many ways including his confidence and discipline! The best part of PAMA and it’s not just a place you take your kid to learn jijitsu, it’s a family! ❤️
Christian Coody: Been training here for over 6 months and have been very happy. Good people, good classes/instruction, and good vibes.
Jennifer Carr: Pama has been amazing since our kids (and husband) joined in Jan 2022. The grit my boys have been able to learn here has been exactly what was needed and didn’t have other options to teach them this grit while learning such confidence in themselves at the same time! The staff is great and the community work that Pama does is icing on the cake! Can’t wait for years of partnership with Pama!!
Julia Benson: PAMA is like family! My 5 year old and me both train at PAMA. I have been training here for 2 years in advanced Muay Thai class. My coach is great. He is teaching creative combinations. I have improved my skills a lot and started participate in competitions. My 5 year old daughter is in the kids Jiu Jitsu class. Her coach is awesome too. They play games to warm up, then all kids learn positions, and they play again. After class we pick up donuts at DunkinDonuts around the corner. PAMA has in-house kids tournaments and seasonal festivities for the kids. At PAMA every one is friendly, polite and respectful. It’s just a pleasure to come here.
J C: We can’t say enough good things about this place. My son Cooper has thrived here, and the owners and staff have been amazing every step of the way. Shout out to Sue! She’s amazing and Professor Boo and Professors Guy and Rob- thank you all!!
Dennis Tran: Great facility and atmosphere for adults and children to learn. Excellent caring staff with high quality teaching skills. I highly recommend PAMA for families or individual wanting to learn BJJ and Muay Thai.
Jessica Blair: Pama has been such a blessing for our 2 kids. They both love the instructors and the classes have given my daughter something to be proud of and her confidence is still growing
Michael Hosmer: Skilled, friendly, and professional team that understands how to train to get the most out of each session, level, and age group.
Erran Schloss: Great Professors (instructors), very welcoming atmosphere
Sheri McReynolds: My boys love the Mauy Thai classes at PAMA! Everyone there is just awesome!!
Whitney Schloss: Pendergrass isn’t just where my son trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, it’s our family and our second home! Thankful for Guy, Rob, Boo, Sue, and Casey for welcoming us into their BJJ home on a daily basis!! The training part is the bonus!! We love our PAMA family!!🖤❤️
Allen Hamouch: Pama is great. Higher belts take the time to teach. The classes have a good flow and the staff is prideful in their work. It's really good exercise and you always leave class feeling better. For those thinking you can't do this, I had to step out and throw up my first few classes. You can do it.
Amanda Simpson: Pendergrass Academy is a great place for the whole family. Our kids love the fun and engaging classes. The adult classes are full of supportive training partners and fantastic instructors.

Ozella Bowman: Fantastic teachers and very kind staff! John is raw but professional and you can tell he knows his stuff! The teachers are extremely energetic and patient particularly when dealing with the younger kids, but they still keep things orderly and disciplined...vs other places where the instructors can't keep a handle on the kids. A great experience all around and highly recommended!

Sabrina Bradley: Great people and Great place

MaryAnn I: Pros: The kickboxing instructors were pretty good. I had a lot of fun during some classes. Pricing is ok & schedule is convenient. Cons: Unprofessionalism about my being out of shape from staff and members. I hated the “special attention,” unsolicited weight loss tips, & laughs that I got during the 2 months that I went to RIMA, averaging 5 days a week. Lastly, I didn't appreciate being grilled when I canceled my membership.
MaryFaye Dodson: Awesome people awesome place highly recommend

Whether you're a fighter looking to seriously compete, someone who has an interest in combat sports, or someone just looking to learn self defense while getting in a solid workout, this gym will give you exactly what you're looking for. Coach Martinez is very knowledgeable and very honest, he is absolutely dedicated to his students and their goals. I can't say enough good things about this place. I've been to a few gyms in the past but once I stepped foot in this gym, I have had zero thoughts of going elsewhere. Come to Inmortales in Wake Forest, you will not be disappointed.
Shivani Mistry: I came to Inmortales MMA searching for a gym to train Muay Thai with technique and hard work in mind and I ended up with a family. Coach Martinez provides a high quality level of instruction in Muay Thai and boxing for all skill levels. I have been training here for 3 months now and Coach Martinez has taught me a lot and constantly pushes me to be a better version of myself. If you want to train to fight or if you want to just learn something new I would encourage anyone to come checkout Inmortales!
Shannan B: Both my teen boys attend classes with Coach Martinez and what a blessing he has been to our family! Amazing coach with impressive results! Couldn’t ask for a better atmosphere. Such a special place. If you are serious about boxing or muay-thai, this is the only place to be in Wake Forest!
Jesse S.: Only got to go to a couple of classes because of my work schedule but this is a great place to train. The instructor is very patient and passionate about martial arts. Hoping to get back into it soon!
Caleb Reid: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityThis gym offers both a welcoming environment and a knowledgeable coach. I’ll definitely be back and I recommend Immortales MMA to anyone who is looking to pick up a skill set or find a high intensity workout routine. 10/10.
Mike Deascentis: Inmortales MMA is 100% the real deal. If you want to truly train Muay Thai, kickboxing, or boxing this place is your one stop shop. I have cross trained at many gyms over the last 20 years and this place will not only meet but exceed your combat training expectations and aspirations. At Inmortales the instruction provided and attentional to detail puts them in the upper echelon within the hierarchy of martial arts gyms. You will actually TRAIN Muay Thai, not some distilled watered down, soft served version of it. The classes include lots of interactive training, learning how to use some of these timeless techniques in a live setting within the confines of a controlled environment. Coach Martinez and his associates will bring out the best in you no matter your age or current skillset! Come put in some work and see for yourself. Exceptional gym!
Nija Parker: I’ve been coming here for almost two years. Coach Martinez and the people at the gym are very nice. It’s very family-oriented. When I first came I was nervous because I assumed the guys and ladies would be cocky or mean. Everyone here is fun, patient, and encouraging. Everyone pushes each other. Coach Martinez will work and encourage you to reach your goal(s), wether it’s for weight loss, getting into shape, learning fighting skills, or just challenging yourself and checking something off your bucket list, etc. I came in with two goals. Getting in shape and gaining self defense skills. I’ve exceeded those goals and gained great confidence in the process. Such a great rewarding experience!
Jake Botterell: I joined the gym about 2 weeks ago and have already lost 8 pounds. The classes are fast paced and thorough and best of all the atmosphere is professional and at the same time there is an essence of Family.
Clinton Mitchell IV: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityBeen training here for 6 months and it’s been mind blowing!! Soon as I walked in the door I was welcomed with open arms. Very clean, fun, family like environment. I’ve been to many gyms a rough the Raleigh-wake forest area and this has been the toughest, consistent training I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend this gym!
suraj kanasagra: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismBest coaches, fun friendly environment and hard working and dedicated people here. Best spot around

Knuckle Up Boxing Gym & Fitness Center Raleigh: what do users think?
Matt Krzyzynski: My monthly subscription to Knuckle Up has been the best investment I've made since I moved to Raleigh. I was totally new to boxing when I started coming in a year ago and am grateful to have found such a welcoming community. Vic, Paul, Lopez, and Kelvin are all stellar, supportive instructors. It's an essential part of my weekly routine!
Sydney Logan: This gym has become a second home to me. Since the day I started, the coaches and the members have been extremely welcoming. During every workout the energy is unmatched and through the roof, and afterwards leaves me feeling accomplished and proud of how far I’ve been able to push myself. There are always opportunities to train and improve yourself, along with learning from many knowledgeable people with a very wide range of skills.
Alex Ridout: Been going to Knuckle Up since Jan 2023, training with Coach Lopez every week on boxing, grappling, weight training, etc… AND learning the art behind it all. Highly recommend!! Book time with this beast today!! Thank you Coach Lopez for all you do! Too Easy!!
Allison Sanders: My time at Knuckle Up Boxing has been invaluable! I am a beginner and was a little intimidated walking into a boxing gym. But, the level of personalized attention I’ve received from Victor, one of the trainers, has been very impressive! Victor is a very knowledgeable trainer who makes sure I focus on the basics and taches me the “why” behind every move. Not to mention, he is super patient and tailors his trainings based on progress and personal goals! If one-on-one training isn’t your thing, the gym has classes, group training and even sessions for children! There’s something there for every budget, every age, and all experience levels! The facilities are clean, the gym area is open 24/7, and the staff is awesome. If you’re looking to build solid skills in a clean friendly environment, and looking to meet up with other boxes, Knuckle Up Boxing is the place for you! And don’t forget to ask for Victor!
Linda rizek: Knuckle up isn't just a gym. It is a family and support system. I have gone beyond my goal and it has exceeded my expectations as the concept of a gym. I personally work with Vic, He is an incredible personal trainer. Knowledgeable and entertaining in everyway. He is always looking for fun new techniques to make learning more understandable and easier, but never unminding how much work your willing to put in for the end goal. With the help of Knuckle up, Vic has made it possible for me to feel stronger than I ever have, and part of something much larger than your average boxing gym.
james wagner: We’ve been training with Vic for a while. He has been nothing but accommodating and patient with my whole family including my little one. I would happily recommend him as a personal trainer for anyone interested in learning how to defend themselves.
Leila Rizek: I’ve been with knuckle Up for almost three years now. I cannot express the physical and mental changes me and my kids have undergone here. I personally have evolved so much, and they’ve given me the strength and confidence that I can protect myself, as well as my kids. I personally want to thank Vic who has been mine and my children’s trainer since the start. He is not only an amazing coach but has become a great friend. I’m grateful that Knuckle up has given me and my kids something to do together as a family. If you are looking for an amazing coach then look no further than Vic!
Jonny Cress: Knuckle up is more than your typical gym. The trainers and staff are welcoming, friendly and very good at their respective crafts. Coach Vic is one of the many standouts at the gym and is a consummate professional. He not only comes to every session with a plan but also has experience to back the lessons he developed specifically for you. As a current competitor you can also see him implement the exact same lessons he teaches you in competition adding immediate legitimacy to the lessons. Hes also willing to mix it up with you and do MMA type workouts, boxing, and general fitness. The gym, its members, and staff are the best because they care and cater to every client and member.
Roxane Kolar: Best gym ever. By no means am I an athlete. In fact, I'm the exact opposite -- the kinda person who trips on thin air. I just really love boxing. This gym is so welcoming and I've never once felt uncomfortable or embarrassed at my lack of skill. I've only ever felt supported and encouraged. Coach Victor is super patient and explains technique in a way I can understand. With his support I'm getting better every week.
Marina Troyano: coach lopez is the best!
Tatiana Perez: I have been coming here for about 2 years and I love it, I’m in the best physical shape I’ve ever been in. I do all my personal training with Coach Lopez. He’s very invested in your development and a great teacher. I’ve definitely leveled up my boxing skills thanks to his coaching!
Luis 7777 the Best: They have the best coaches
Joe Natale: I don’t box. I powerlift. This place housed our event last weekend and the location is top notch!!!! Super clean and the equipment was smooth and reliable. If I was a boxer, I would go here for sure. The ring was well kept and the whole place was welcoming. Highly recommend!!!!!!Joe
Nate: Great people. Great community. Goated
SVT VALE: Just joined this this gym like 2 weeks ago, havent had a chance to try out their boxing classes but ive ran into a couple of their instructors and they’re very polite and welcoming, i really enjoy the free weights and the facility is always clean.

Bien Siao: Great coaches. Awesome people. Inspiring environment. Randy is a professor of the science that is boxing. Go to this place if you want to improve your physical and mental state.
J George: Me and a friend were in search of a boxing gym to visit. The front ladies were welcoming even with me being late. All members of the gym were encouraging to new guest. Our Knuckle Up experience was new and pleasant. I would definitely recommend visiting Knuckle Up for one’s own experience!
Matt Gordon: Great instruction, always super friendly atmosphere. Would give 10 stars if I could.
Omar Lujan: Awesome gym and friendly atmosphere, Randy is awesome

Beale's Combatives: what do users think?
Bonnie Black: excellent instructor who seamlessly blends concepts and methodologies together.
Sofia S: He's a great instructor! He's taught me a lot about combat in the little time I've known him.
Luis Correa: Amazing instructor who’s willing to help you achieve your goals!! The best choice I ever made in my life!!
Jeffery Ketchup Jr: Its a very valuable experience with the first of many sessions. From the wealth of knowledge possessed there's a strong foundation of fundamentals to start from to learn how to handle the instruction properly. Then progressively as the difficulty increases with the maneuvers he gives a step by step approach with an example of how to do it, reinforcing what is taught in an easily understandable manner.
Daniel Salazar: He's a great instructor!
Regina Casey: Kevin is an outstanding instructor. His knowledge and mastery of many different styles of martial arts enables him to individualize instruction for each student according to the student’s goals and level of ability. His many years of experience enable him to break down each skill and make it achievable without being intimidating. He is exceedingly patient, encouraging, and his sense of humor is a real bonus. I highly recommend Kevin Beale as an instructor.
Chris Baril: If I could give 26 stars I would! But only 5 available. Kevin is excellent and would definitely recommend training with him as a beginner and also as an advanced. Mobile dojo is also a great idea!
Robert Canestrari: I trained with Kevin for years and recommend him without reservation. He is extremely knowledgeable and is an articulate, personable instructor. His deep skill and unpretentious manner builds trust quickly and makes every session impactful. I only wish I still lived close enough to him to regularly train. Accelerate your development and gain the confidence that comes with building pressure-tested skills. Train with Kevin!
Jim Johnson: I have known instructor Beale for over 25 years he is the original AIM instructors from Washington DC he has taught thousands of students over the years and has done a fantastic job. He truly cares about his students and provides them the tools to succeed in life. I highly recommend instructor Beale and what he has to offer.
AbdulMalik Abu Thalatha: Kevin Beale is by far a fantastic and extraordinarily knowledgeable instructor. The yrs I have spent with him and the systems he teaches have shown me and others that he is above and beyond your average McDojo instructor. THIS DUDE IS LEGIT!!!!!
Keith Miller: I've known Kevin for a great many years, and trained with him. He is very knowledgable, and gracious with his time. His classes are fun and fast paced, and accessible to all levels of athlete. If I didn't live several states away, I'd be in his classes several times per week.
Amy Taylor Mitchell: Kevin is an excellent instructor! I’m in my 40’s, and I had always wanted to take martial arts, but never had the right opportunity. I was able to take one on one lessons with Kevin, and I’m so glad I did. He’s so knowledgeable and such a good instructor. I feel much more confident in my ability to be physically safe when I travel, and that gives me peace of mind.
Brad Taylor: Kevin is my Sifu, he's super knowledgeable in martial arts, and provides individually tailored self-defense training to me and my family. We have a good time and I get a great workout!
Rob Doggett: I’ve known my Instructor, Mr. Kevin Beale for many years and he’s definitely one of a kind! He’s got a wealth of experience and knowledge in the martial arts. Through one-on-one sessions, he coached me in Jeet Kune Do and Boxing. I eventually used the skills he taught me to compete and win an amateur kickboxing fight. However, even if you don’t want to compete and just want to get in shape or learn self-defense, he tailors the training to you. That’s the benefit of 1-on-1 sessions. I love the fact that he’ll come to me and we can train anywhere! It’s so convenient and learning happens much faster than in a class with 30 other people! Definitely recommend him for anyone interested in learning self-defense, training martial arts, getting in shape, or competing.
Juanita Dale Slusher: I am working on a biography on Yoshihiro Uchida, San Jose State University's 101-year-old judo coach, and Kevin has been great in helping me with my research on the history of judo and martial arts in the United States since World War II. He also is helpful in explaining the various throws and techniques that I don't always understand. Thanks, Kevin! (Coach Uchida and Lyle Hunt, SJS's first judoka to qualify for international competition, are pictured below in 1953.)

Hillary-Marie: Great Muay Thai gym. Super friendly, no egos, and a very welcoming mat for women. Highly recommend to anyone new or with many years of experience. Thank you OP and the United Team!
Hold That Thought: Great people. OP shouts out your name as you walk through the door with a huge smile on his face. TK is extremely friendly and encouraging. All of the coaches are friendly yet focused and very skilled. They'll push you far past what you thought your limitations were as long as you are consistent and they've given me sound advice every time I've sought it out. I love coming here to train. They've cultivated very positive motivating energy in this gym.
Tobias: Awesome gym! Everyone that walks in the door is treated like family. Great staff, great environment, great instructors. 10/10 would punch and kick here again.
Dale Bellard: Amazing environment, friendly people! A great place to learn and train!
Brandon Miles: Fantastic experience with my first class. Very friendly instructors and very open to teaching beginners. It certainly is a workout, so be prepared for that, especially with the boxing class. Planning on going back as soon as I can make time for another class.

Creighton Lynch: Best gym, best coaches. Everyone is welcoming and helpful to newcomers. United is a great place to get in shape and begin your martial arts journey.
Alison M. Friedman: This place is a dream come true. I just moved to the area and have trained at gyms all over Asia and the U.S., and this is one of the best I've ever experienced. From the second I walked in the door I felt welcomed like family. The vibe here is incredible. I feel both challenged to push beyond my comfort zones, and always safe that I will be given all the tools to get there. The coaches are serious, focused, incredible, and classes have mixed levels which at first I thought would intimidate me but actually makes everything better because you learn watching the advanced people and everyone is so focused on improving themselves and supporting each other that you never feel out of place whether it's your first day or your thousandth. That is not an easy balance to strike! And definitely is a testament to the values and spirit of the founder and leader of the gym. Plus there's a friendly dog who sometimes shows up to give you side-eye if you're not jumping rope fast enough. I can't say enough good things about this gym! It's incredible.
lee fiedler: Where do I start? Such a friendly and growth-oriented atmosphere with little to no intimidation or negativity. Always the best vibes, best coaches, so much to learn from in classes, great training partners, an all around incredible place. Trust me when I say, United is the place to be !!!!!!

Elite Fire Taekwondo: what do users think?
Matt Leary: I have been training with Master Houman and Neshat for several years and they are amazing. My son and daughter also study Taekwondo here and love it. They do an amazing job with students of all ages and abilities at Elite Fire.
Charlene Kea: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismMaster and his wife are very compassionate people. They always offer alternative solutions in every situation. Thank you both for being a guidance to me and my family.
Selena Reece: The team is kind, supportive, and fun! My son’s confidence has improved exponentially since starting classes and he remains committed since 2019. Master Houman and Ms. Neshat are the best.
Mary Covington Coleman: My son has been with EFT for 2 years. It has been the best experience for him to learn discipline, respect, and setting goals. The EFT family could not be a success without the love and dedication of its leaders: Master Houman and Mrs. Neshat. These two pour their hearts into the business, the students and creating the EFT family. Come to one class and experience it for yourself!
Carolyn Namde: Our son has learned self confidence and discipline. We love it here!
Liz Hollar: Elite Fire is absolutely fantastic. They take so much care with the kids and help them to reach their goals. It is honestly like joining a family.
Lori Stover: A wonderful place to learn all taekwondo has to offer including discipline and respect. The curriculum supports kids learning important skills and lessons while still having fun and learning at their own pace. For more experienced students there are number of opportunities and paths to become more involved such as gaining a deeper understanding of the basics, joining demonstration team, or joining the leadership team and learning how to be an assistant instructor. I love that there are children and adults alike of all ages and skills which creates a close knit community.
Robin Willis: Amazing! Such an awesome group of people and supportive atmosphere.
Ammeen Nader: The best Taekwondo school in the Carolina's! They really care about each and every student. Master Houman is extremely experienced and knowledgable, great with all ages of student. Highly recommend.
Seung Parker: Caring, athletic and family studio
Jay Park: My 7 years old daughter has been with EFT for about 3 months now and we love this Taekwondo Dojang. My daughter gets very excited to go everytime. The Master Houman is training all members professionally and knows exactly what they need from the Master. They always welcome you with warm smiles and cares. It is a great Taekwondo Dojang and we just LOVE going to Elite Fire Taekwondo!!!
Jen Daniel: Both of my boys (3 and 5) started about a month ago and it has been amazing for them. My 5 year old is gaining new found confidence since he has started. There have been days where my 5 year did not want to go and master Houman has a way with speaking to him that just clicks. I also notice that master Houman is constantly reading the children. He is quick to keep their attention and clam them down when needed. Not a class goes by that I don’t crack up laughing watching my 3 year old. Neshat Also does a great job getting the kids in the door and has a very organized program. We love it! Thank you!
Chris Wetzel: Positive:QualityOur five year old son absolutely loves Elite Fire (has been going for ~two years now). Master Houman is incredible w/ the kids (and adults). EFT not only teaches the physical aspects of TKD but also emphasizes discipline, respect, humility, and confidence. I could not recommend them enough.
Heather Wetzel: We've been with EFT for 1.5 years and are so happy we found them! Our son started TKD at 3 years of age and worked his way through the "little kids'" curriculum until January, when he graduated to the "big kids'" group. He really loves Houman and Neshat and it's clear they love him too, just as they do the rest of their kiddos! They mirror a lot of the teachings we work on as parents - kindness, focus, and having fun. We hope to be with them for years to come and maybe one day he'll get to wear the "cool black uniforms" :).
Ralguy22: Master Houman and Neshat are not only wonderful teachers and coaches, but also valued mentors to our 9 year old son. My wife and I appreciate their emphasis of respect and responsibility.. We have seen significant growth in our son's maturity due to his Taekwondo training.
Jane: This TKD school is unlike any other in the area. It has a small, family feel; you are not just a number in a massive chain of dojangs focused on high volume of business. Instead, Master Houman and Mrs. Neshat know each student by name, treat them like family., and give all they have to help each one succeed. Their students are truly their priority. Our son has learned focus, respect, goal-setting, strength training, and many other life skills that will serve him well in other sports, in school, and in life. We are so grateful for our EFT family!
Amy Garner: Elite Fire has been fantastic for our young son! He participates in the entry program Elite Embers and Master Houman is wonderful with the children, commanding their attention, engaging them, and motivating them. Our son enjoys his time at Taekwondo and we see increased attention and discipline. Great dojang and community!
Sarah Gibbs: We have been incredibly happy with Elite Fire Taekwondo. My 5 year old son started training just 2 months ago and he has already learned so much. The focus on each individual's needs is unrivaled. We have been impressed with the way Elite Fire is run, both from the training side and the business side. It has been a very positive addition to our family's schedule.
Mary Zimardo: My 6 year old absolutely loves Elite Fire Taekwondo. I thought going multiple times a week would be too much but he is eager to go each time. He looks forward to the achievements and learning from all the instructors. I am pleasantly surprised.
Dane Grismer: My sons and I love training with Master Houman and Neshat! Having grown up in a martial arts household, it has been a great experience getting to train with my kids, especially when the training is meaningful for all of us. Before moving to this dojang, we trained in a parking deck for over a year during the height of the pandemic. Whether with 3 students or 30, Master Houman has shown he can effectively accommodate any class size, any mix of ages, and any mix of skill levels in multiple settings. My oldest son recently had his birthday party at the dojang and it was a hit with all his friends and their parents. Can't recommend enough!
Stephen Reece: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy son has learned so much about confidence and character, not to mention truly enjoying the taekwondo. I even ended up joining; it's great! Master Houman and Ms. Neshat are wonderful people and it's a pleasure to be able to attend their dojang.
