Karate International of Raleigh: what do users think?
Melissa Brandon: Extremely organized and well run facility. We also had a birthday party here and it was low stress and the kids had an amazing time. Highly recommended.
Maurica Hines: If you’re looking for THEE Karate School/Dojo, this is IT! Our son has a ton of energy, and this has been a great way for him to channel his energy in a good, positive, and fun manner. I love hearing him say “Mommy, Daddy, I’m going to work really hard on my snapping front kicks so I can get my next stripe.” Already a goal setter… LOVE IT!His coordination, balance, and focus has certainly improved and it has only been 30 days. He enjoy meeting new friends with common goals, and loving the class program, and challenges. We deeply appreciate the positive encouragement from his instructors, the family-like atmosphere, and enjoy seeing their interactions with the students.Thank you Karate International for being your awesome selves. Everything you implement is with purpose, and we’re loving it!
Sharese Roberts: KI is a place filled with people who love what they do. We’re always warmly greeted and there’s so much encouragement there that my son broke out of his shyness almost immediately! His teachers are so patient and kind. The other teachers always go out of their way to speak and are genuinely nice. My kids also love their play area and sometimes we start after class so they can play. If you’re looking for an extracurricular activity for you kids, or yourself, I would definitely recommend this place.
Stephanie Hansley: My son has been a student here since March of 2021. His self confidence, fortitude, and perseverance have all grown so much while here at this school. They really have a community here, and we are glad we found it!A few perks-they also have tables in the back so parents and siblings can work/play, and a workout area for the parents (treadmills, weights, etc).
Magalis Serrano: Our daughter Paula wanted to get started in Karate and after looking at a few options we discovered KI and were blown away by the wonderful reviews we found. Today, just over a month ago, Paula started her classes, she already got the GOLDEN BELT!!! The entire team has been extraordinarily wonderful, the teachers are amazing, they are patient, funny, energetic, Josh has answered all of our questions promptly. Our daughter looks forward to her classes every day and we are very proud and excited with her progress.
Bill Woodruff (Raleigh Car Care): Have been dealing with Karate International for the last 10 years. Josh and his team do a great job. Highly recommend.
Elliot Fontanet: Karate International of Raleigh is a great dojo to train. They are very family oriented and knowledgeable on all levels. The Iaido, Kendo and Karate programs have brought me joy.
Dale Johnson: You will not find a better establishment. Various martial art classes and a gym to use included in the monthly subscription. The staff there are very nice and very helpful.
Breyzinski Colin: Karate International is a great place to learn self defense and build self esteem for both adults and kids. Karate International makes you feel part of the family. All the instructors take the time, patience and knowledge to help you reach what ever goal you’re looking to achieve.
Hanna & Adonai: Love Karate International. you have to come and see for yourself. Amazing family run Business.
Rasha Alissa: My 3 kids go there and they love it, best staff ever.
Thu Van Nguyen: Karate International on Hargrove Rd is a best place for my boys Lucas and Jacob. There are good environment and attentive staffs. My kids love and enjoy this place every time they come.Highly recommend!
Mike Lyons: My kids and I have been going here for just over a year - it's an amazing school and I couldn't speak more highly of it. Amazingly talented and supportive instructors across the range of martial arts they teach - come give it a go, you won't be disappointed!
mashimarojc: We have been part of the Karate International family since Fall of 2019, right before pandemic. During the height of it, the school tried every possible solution to help getting kids interested (via live classes - both group and private, via online video). We have been very happy with my son's progress - he has been with the school since age 5, and now he is almost 9 and progressing still. He loves the classes, the instructors are all amazing with kids - and teaching the lesson on respect, anti-bullying. Looking forward to more amazing lessons and grow with the school.A few more things remembered1. there are gym equipment in the back for adults to use while kids are in class2. I feel totally safe to drop off my son for the class and pick him up later3. there is wifi available and desk areas - where I can get some work done while waiting
Angelica Blanks: Karate International is a wonderful dojo full of happy people who are passionate about their students and their practice. We tried the class pass which is an economical way to introduce you and your kid(s) to karate and covers 4 classes, the uniform, and lots of fun! What I love most is the individualized attention paid to each kid throughout the program. The instructors are responsive to the students and allow them to practice skills that need work, but also lead to steady improvement which is marked by stripes and belts. Even younger kids feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment when they earn their stripes and get that recognition. It's certainly helped my son with balance and coordination and he's only been at it a bit over a month. They also have nice exercise equipment for parents to get in a workout while your kid is in class at no extra cost and fun events every month like popsicle day, holiday celebrations, and light saber parties. We love our KI family and are so grateful for everyone at this dojo.
WD Gover: Phenomenal Place excellent instructor, respectful very serious very friendly & knowledgable
Kenuel Saintyl: My wife and I are very pleased with the services we have receive from Karate International. Our daughter enjoys the classes and the variety activities they incorporate throughout the year. Outside of self defense, it is clear that she is learning about self control, focus, perseverance, etc. The times they offer allow us to work classes into our schedule. I personally love that they have a section with workout equipment for the parents to use.
Tish H: Attended a self defense class with our Girl Scout troop. Instructor Melissa was awesome and the class was great! Highly recommend.
George Montgomery: After a short hiatus it was good to be back with Mr. Moss and Mrs. Crowson.
Jesus Marquez: Mucha pasión en lo que hacen en esa escuela de karate...excelente
m&m OrellanaMorales: I have seen how my son has been concentrated and disciplined a lot, he has learned to share and treat children very well, they are a love, the truth is if I recommend KI because they are very kind, attentive and children learn too much with them ❤️

Bushido USA Dojo: what do users think?
Hudson B: We started my son here a few months ago in karate and judo, and we could not be more pleased with the dojo and Sensei Juan. My son is already learning a lot about martial arts and the associated discipline/sportsmanship, and he loves going. Sensei Juan is fantastic, particularly with the kids, and the class sizes are manageable around 8 kids. The dojo costs are much more reasonable than two other taekwondo places we tried, classes are unlimited without day restrictions, and the location is very convenient to North Hills. Excellent experience that I highly recommend for children and adults.
Kevin Pancrazio: Sensai Juan is incredible with kids. Mine could rarely focus outside of the dojo, it's so great to see how he thrives in this class. I'd recommend this dojo to anyone.
Luis R Apellaniz: Sensei Juan does an amazing job with the kids. Very disciplined and encouraging. I wasn't sure when we would find an activity my son would stick with and glad we settled on this one.
Merry Gu: Our son has been practicing Karate and Judo with Sensei Juan since he was 5. We are very impressed! Sensei Juan is very patient with my son. He is nice and friendly, while he is strict about practicing and disciplines. Kids just love him!

Mr Juan is one of the realest people I’ve ever met, I’ve loved every minute of being apart of this family. He is top notch and pushes you to be better every class. He genuinely cares about his students and has a true passion to teach. I’d HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Petra Nemcova: Bushido USA Dojo is one of the best places to train Karate. Sensei Juan is very friendly, knowledgeable , professional and the most humble and dedicated Karate teacher I have ever met. He teaches Karate, Judo, Kurash and Kobudo and Fitness. Great training schedule and even better prices everyone can afford! Come and try a free class, train on regular bases, learn self defense, get fit, set and achieve goals, get your stress out and build strong character traits such as discipline, focus, respect, indomitable spirit, integrity, self control, loyalty, positive attitude, kindness, bravery and good manners in your children!

Sid Singh: Great place! Coaches are knowledgeable, and everyone is super friendly there! Definitely recommended!
Ozella Bowman: Fantastic teachers and very kind staff! John is raw but professional and you can tell he knows his stuff! The teachers are extremely energetic and patient particularly when dealing with the younger kids, but they still keep things orderly and disciplined...vs other places where the instructors can't keep a handle on the kids. A great experience all around and highly recommended!
Michael Vaught: A very welcoming environment. I spoke with the owner who was very polite and knowledgeable. Also throughly explained different types of martial arts classes the gym offers. I highly recommend this gym. The instructors are extremely friendly and helpful.

Sabrina Bradley: Great people and Great place
Andrew Bohn: Positive:Communication,Quality,ValueRIMA is awesome! The masters have a wealth of knowledge and know how to teach it to you. It feels like a family. A family that fights and sweats and learns to break each others bones, but a family :-)
Calvin Harris: Nice environment and the staff is very professional. Great work out space and I love the basketball court. Excellent way to lose weight and burn lots of calories. Instructors are patient and make sure you learn the proper techniques. I also like the hours of operation. You should check it out!
Sami Farmer: Some teachers are cool. I liked the kick boxing class because it‘s fun. Instructors are hit or miss. It’s also pricey.
Jeannien Engelbrecht: Great facility and ownership! We enjoyed our first trial as a family and looking forward to our return! This club offers classes for all ages!!
Bryan Adams: Love this place!Everyone is super welcoming and helpful. Professor Tricoli is awesome and his expertise is very broad and deep across many martial arts. Several other high ranking veterans yo provide guidance as well.New location is great too.
MaryAnn I: Pros: The kickboxing instructors were pretty good. I had a lot of fun during some classes. Pricing is ok & schedule is convenient. Cons: Unprofessionalism about my being out of shape from staff and members. I hated the “special attention,” unsolicited weight loss tips, & laughs that I got during the 2 months that I went to RIMA, averaging 5 days a week. Lastly, I didn't appreciate being grilled when I canceled my membership.
MaryFaye Dodson: Awesome people awesome place highly recommend
Greg Martinez: Great place!
Tyler Ingram: Those men are experts and they can teach anyone how to be a professional fighter
Eronger Kornegay: We are all entitled to our own opinions, right? Well here's mine:Parking: 5Location: 5Decor/ambiance: 5Customer Service: 5+RIMA Martial Arts is the place to be if you are seeking instructional coaching in fitness kickboxing! The decor is edgy (typical gym look) but super clean. For this gym to be as busy as it is, its really neat and has a great smell too (little things like this matter to me). The service I receive during my visits is always stellar! The staff and trainers are world class team members who make the RIMA brand a success. I was lucky to connect with one of the trainers named John. He has a passion for the community and helping empower those who seek it.If you are interested and have some drawbacks, give them a try and check them out. They offer Free Private Intro classes! The staff and members are all so welcoming while the workouts are always progressive, and fun!

Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy of Raleigh: what do users think?
Jake Donovan: Started here about 4 weeks ago. I have been taking Jiu Jitsu and Judo. Instructors are great in both Jiu Jitsu and Judo. There are plenty of classes offered during the week for Jiu Jitsu and twice for Judo. Everyone is very friendly and it feels like a large family. I have had a ton of fun taking classes at Royce Gracie in Raleigh.
Ranbir Bakhshi: I have been training here for a couple of months and have been learning more and more each week.Billy does an awesome job teaching Jiu Jitsu, very knowledgable and has a great sense of humor. Doesn't make you feel uncomfortable when asking questions.Great group and culture at this gym!
Elias Everett: Top level academy. Very clean and professional. Billy is a very knowledgeable, welcoming instructor.
Michael Cote: I started about 6 months ago and I've both really liked it and feel as if I've improved a lot. I've only done the jiu jitsu classes because it best fits my schedule but you can take advantage of judo, kick boxing, etc as well. My son goes to the kid classes and loves it. Both the adult and the kid coaches are really good. I go to both the morning (6 AM classes) and the afternoon/night classes and the instruction is excellent in each one. Coaches will definitely take time to answer questions and make sure you understand and are doing things correctly. I've also never felt like the place is unsafe. Everyone is incredibly nice, willing to answer questions, and no one is trying to crank out moves.
Chuck Chapa: Billy and Patches are awesome! Excellent facility, training, coaching, and staff. My daughter and I love to and are proud to train at the Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy Of Raleigh!
Chris Edl: I can't say enough good things about this academy. It's a legit facility with a great staff and the teachers are top-notch. The cool thing is a membership doesn't limit you to just Jiu Jitsu; you can also do kickboxing and judo. So with that said, I've definitely been getting my money's worth going up and doing what's available, whenever I can. Give it a shot and see if it's for you too.
Ken Schult: Excellent Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym; coaches are knowledgeable and supportive, with an overall positive approach to this martial art. I've been taking my grandson here for more than a year, after one of my sons, who also trains at RGJJ, recommended it. They have great kids classes and a clean & hygienic environment. Highly recommended.
Michael Bennett: What I can’t believe is real is the fact that they offer Gracie BJJ, Judo, and Muay Thai kickboxing. 3 separate programs, all included in your membership, and they all flow together well. The instructors for each are very high quality. Just how they don’t just “hand out” stripes and belts, I don’t just hand out 5 star reviews. I’ve been looking for the right place to train, and this is it for sure.
Brad Rogerson: Started here about 2 months ago as a fresh white belt. After having been an athlete my whole life and never trying Jiu Jitsu...I'm glad I choose this as the start to my journey.I have done free classes at other gyms and they are all great, but this one seemed to fit a style I liked."Patches" who runs the front desk made me feel at home immediately and gave me a rad team mom kinda vibe. She also did a great job educating me on how things work to make sure I was comfortable there.Other places I have been did not have such a dialed in structure and focus on their students the way I have experienced.I can only speak for lower experienced students... But the beginner classes I'm going to, everyone is have a really good time. I am meeting lots of cool new people and learning faster than I would have thought.I would say if you want to try it out...Don't be shy, enjoy the experience of being new, the more advanced girls and guys are super supportive in helping to new crowd!
Roma Sushyk: Almost first month in, great space, solid instructor, awesome atmosphere.Highly recommend.
Sean Witty: Been there four months w/ my son and love it. Instructors help each person with what they want to learn and respect everyone's goals. It's not a belt factory, nor is there an emphasis on testing - you get out what you put in. Billy (and others) always take time to answer questions, explain, and give individual attention. Kids program is fantastic - teachers push the kids at a good pace and get them comfortable with each step. My son has TONS more confidence and ability than when he walked in. 100% great experience!
Giovanni Ford: Been away from the area, due to work schedule! Came by the gym and it felt like I never left! Awesome atmosphere and instruction!
Frank Shaw: 10/10, such a welcoming and positive place. Staff and students are awesome all around
Eric Moran: Amazing instructors! Great energy. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a real mixed martial arts experience
Joe Miller: The coaches are friendly, very encouraging and do a great job to give special attention to all of the students. From Peaches (mascot) upon entry, to Patches remembering EVERYONE’S name, they make you feel welcome. The instruction is structured and works to advance the students and build confidence.
Vicky Wang: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismMy boy is 8 and has no material art experience before, we just started it last month. As we just came back from the class tonight, he is not scared to defend himself anymore. I definitely see the improvement!
Rabih Richa: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Steven Fowler: Every facet of my experience here has been excellent. The instructors are top-notch and everyone is helpful. Fellow, more experienced students want you to succeed and learn how to get better. Can't recommend enough.
Mustafa oudeh: Absolutely love this gym! Everyone is so kind and they care about their students. Billy is a great teacher. Thank you
Alex Davis: I have been training here for a little over 5 years and it is truly one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I'll tell anyone who asks that I came for the Jiu Jitsu and I stayed for the people. You will not find higher caliber people anywhere else, nor will you find a group of people and instructors who are as invested in your success, not only jiu jitsu but also in life, as the people at Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy of Raleigh. If you're thinking about joining or trying it out, don't waste another minute and just show up, you won't regret it.
Jason O'Briant: We enrolled our son in the kids class 6 months ago and the speed of his progress is really staggering. The majority of the credit must go to Rashaun the lead kids' coach. He has a special talent communicating with children and getting the most effort out of them. He both challenges and pushes them. I find his approach very refreshing. I've witnessed tremendous changes in all the other students in the class as well.Billy, the owner, his partner, and Peaches (gym dog) are always there to welcome you, chat about the day, and sets the tone and culture of the school through his leadership. Oh, and back to Peaches...Billy rescued her, and there should be a whole separate post here about Peaches!Despite being in a building with any number of highly trained and skilled martial artist, it's one of the most friendly environments for learning and exploring personal growth. But, please don't conflate friendly with easy. The kids are working, and it's not always easy, but they're learning how to defend themselves. It's a challenging endeavor that few actually know how to do. Kids here certainly will.

Lee Brothers Martial Arts: what do users think?
Roxette Pérez: My daughter has attended at Lee Brothers since 2020, she was 6y/o when she started this path. I’m very satisfied with the treatment she receives from their master and instructors, they are professional, friendly and respectfully. She is excited to get her first degree as Junior Deputy Black Belt 🥋it’s not an easy path, but their instructor help her to achieve her goals everyday. Thanks everyone at Lee Brothers Tae Kwon Do 🙂.
Andrea McBride: Lee Brothers is the BEST. My children love it here. The instructors are very kind and respectful of the children as individuals; they treat them well. The Masters get to know each child so they can bring them to their own highest level of success, not force them to fit the average of the group. I strongly encourage you to try this school before signing up anywhere else.
Jeweleon Jones: Engaged, thoughtful, experienced and caring instructors have been a gift to our child. Thankful to have found this community and would highly recommend it!
Bob Kratzer: I've seen my grandson listen, focus, pay attention better, and grow into a respectful young man while being physically active and learning Tae Kwon Do. My grandson has made friends with many of the school's students. The instructors are friendly, kind and respectful to everyone. This is and has been a big influence in my grandson's personal growth, making him a better person.
Adama Jammeh: Perfect environment for families, instructors are awesome, patient, professional and helpful….I see great changes with child’s confidence, discipline and potential since he started classes with them. I recommend Lee Brothers to all 100%.
Esmeralda Dowdy: Positive:ProfessionalismFor so long I’m looking for a place like that for my 10 years old boy , finally he is on a nice, secure and positive place .
Daniel Cantero: Best place to learn martial arts and a great atmosphere to learn and make friends. The price is ver accessible.
Bobby Fields: I have been a member with family since 2018. Grand Master Lee, The other Masters and instructors are incrediable teachers and friends. It is one big family all working together to help you acheive your personal goals. Their didication to their students is amazing. I highly recommend this authentic Taekwondo/hapkido Dojo for your martial arts training.
Anna Gaines: This place is absolutely amazing! My boys and I have enjoyed our experience so far and just adore all of the instructors. Master Lee has a great presence in the gym, The instructors really take the time to make sure that you feel comfortable with movements. I love how there are teenaged-instructors that help teach the classes for the littles and offer mentorship. Highly recommend this place!
Andi Chappell: I have been taking my little one since a few days past his 4th birthday. He had been struggling with his emotions - acting out, misbehaving, and treating himself and others in a dangerous way. He had a therapist and IEP teacher and while both were good for him, I knew he needed something else (he had so much anger built up inside his tiny body). With lots of counseling and meetings with his preschool teachers, one suggested I look into Tae Kwon Do. There’s lots of places in the Raleigh area so narrowing it down was hard - what took to me initially is that Lee Brothers doesn’t have a max amount of classes you can take (or say this age group only meets one day a week at this time) so class wise, you “get your moneys worth” if looking at it with a financial view. After the trial class, I decided to give it a shot and I’m so glad I did.Little man is now 7. The discipline they teach the kids (and adults too) is outstanding. While he still acts out on occasion, the dangerous misbehavior has really become a thing of the past. He makes great grades in school, understands when someone is hurt, and best of all he’s able to channel all his negative emotions into this sport. Five stars just isn’t enough by how much I have to thank Master Lee and all staff at Lee Brothers. All the things that little man has accomplished are a big kudos to them. 💜
Michael Najm: Simply the best!
Chester Ullrich: So lucky to find this place, my kids even got me to join. It’s our family’s thing. I wouldn’t change it. 😊The staff will learn your kids names and treat them as accountable little humans. It is such a great confidence builder for them. My kids always leave there with a smile.Me on the other hand, I usually leave sweaty and tired but enjoying the look on my kids faces. Thanks everyone, at Lee Brothers!
Vickie Koch: My husband and I enrolled our grandson at Lee Brothers Taekwondo so that he could learn self-defense. Little did we know at the time that this program offers so much more than that. The incredible instructors help teach the students about respecting others and being kind to others, all while learning many more life skills. They encourage the students to be the very best that they can be in all areas including getting good grades and keeping their rooms clean. We are so happy that we made this decision for our grandson. There is no better Martial Arts facility than Lee Brothers!
Anne Reel: LeeBrothers TKD family will not disappoint. I speak as a parent of a highly active child who learned to calm his inner wild. We started out with white belt classes and the after school program. They pick up the kids from school and help them complete homework and go to TKD class. Our son loved it so much he wanted to come for Track out camp ( or Summer camp). Lee Brothers promotes and repeats self respect, discipline and confidence with their students. Master Lee has such a special reciprocal respect with each student that he earned through consistent POSITIVE reinforcement. Great Summer camp option- they do everything from martial arts, swimming, cooking, museums, field trips, and each week has a fun theme! HIGHLY recommend.
Keith Langbo: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueWe are extremely grateful for Master Lee and the team at Lee Brothers. They have been a large part of our family for the past decade and we hope to continue for decades more.
Shawn MacArthur: Lee Brothers is an awesome Martial Arts studio. I have taken Martial Arts at many studios over the years and Lee Brothers is great. A very family friendly, fun environment, but still very serious on the topics they teach. Couldn't speak more highly of them. Master Lee and all of the instructors are great.
Dale Brunelle: Lee Brothers, Master Lee, and all the instructors are an important part of our extended family network. Their caring, engaging, and encouraging approach to teaching Tae Kwon Do has been instrumental to our daughter's development - not only as a burgeoning martial artist, but also as a confident (and sometimes intensely fierce!) young woman. Their teaching goes beyond forms and techniques, extending into family values, respect, and global citizenry. Since returning after a COVIC pause, she's been welcomed back and has regained an important aspect of her sense of community of friends and teachers as well as skills development. She feels loved and supported and their lesson schedule is very flexible which helps accommodate busy families. We are extremely happy with our experience thus far as part of the Lee Brothers community and look forward to several more years there.
David Catalano: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueLee Brothers is a family that you become part of the moment you walk in the facility. I have been in and out of martial arts for over 40 years and could not be more impressed with the quality of training and personal attention I receive there. Highly recommended!
Kristina Brunelle: Our daughter has had a fabulous experience at Lee Brothers over the past 5 years. She is now a fifth grader and we are convinced that her Taekwondo training is largely responsible for her self confidence and ability to focus. Her teachers have all been warm, positive and encouraging while also helping her to strive for excellence in her practice - which also affects her life in positive ways outside of class.Master Lee and his staff are consummate professionals who truly understand how to motivate children and make things fun and interesting. They are excellent at communicating about classes, school-related activities, summer and track-out camps, and after-school care, not to mention all the complications that Covid has brought to each of them.Masks are worn by all students, staff, instructor, and parents and there have been zero cases since the pandemic started. If you are looking for a marvelous experience for your child (or yourself!) that provides an opportunity for physical activity, fun, focus, discipline, camaraderie, and a welcoming community, there is nowhere our family would recommend more highly than Lee Brothers.
Greg Duckworth: Positive:ProfessionalismI had been an attending member at Lee Brothers TKD for around 10 years and I found the staff to be very knowledgeable, kind, and fair. The DoJuhng is always clean. I loved it there. The kids program is the best.

Gracie Raleigh: what do users think?
Gavin Gaspar: I was in town for business looking for a place to train. The academy was great. The jujitsu was technical and everyone was friendly. I highly recommend training there. I look forward to stopping by again. JLG
Paige Farley: My sister and I took a self-defense class with Karl at Gracie Raleigh, and it was incredibly useful, engaging, informative, and helpful. Karl was extremely communicative, knowledgeable, kind, and exceeded our expectations beyond measure. He taught us so much and made us feel so comfortable. You could tell that he truly cares about what he does, and he went above and beyond to make our experience a helpful and positive one. We can’t thank you enough!
Amir McClain: I stared to attend classes about a month ago when my Uncle recommended I come and it has been an amazing experience for sure. All the coaches are amazing and work with you one whatever you need help on or want to work on. I would definitely recommend coming and joining this great program and team! You will not only have a great time but will see results!
Jeff Brinkman: I had the opportunity to drop in tonight. It’s a great facility, with a welcoming environment. The instructions was top notch, breaking down techniques to make them applicable for upper level belts but keeping them simple enough for the white belts to become comfortable with them.I’ll definitely be stopping in the next time I’m in town.
Dan Almond: Gracie Raleigh is a great place to learn. The community they have established is very welcoming and the instructors are awesome. If you are looking for a place to get started on your path in learning BJJ, I would highly recommend it.
Jessica Sullivan: Can’t say enough good things about this gym. My 8 year old son takes Brazilian jiujitsu and the coaches are second to none. The energy coach Thom brings in the room keeps everyone so engaged and excited to be there. Not only that but they take a real interest in the kids and train them not just for bjj but for life. They teach them they are leaders in their community and “10 ft tall” They command respect and teach discipline with a firm hand but also so kind and caring at the same time. Greyson, Karl and Thom are treasures and my kids a better person from training with them.
Colin Kiser: I'd been waiting to train BJJ for years, and finally pulled the trigger at Gracie Raleigh 2 months ago, along with my 7 yr old son. Though the gym has many positives, I've specifically enjoyed the overall culture or learning, support, and friendliness (particularly towards newbies). This is key when you're choking one another out... I feel comfortable and excited to go to class every time. The gym is welcoming, safe for kids, and CLEAN. The new location is baller. Props to the team.
Noah Pope: Welcoming environment. Knowledgeable instructors. Highly recommend.
Donald Dickey: Great workout for Muay Thai!
Alan Grubner: feel lucky i had the chance to drop in for the trial kickboxing class. this place is awesome. really appreciated the vibe & instruction. if i lived here, i’d join up for sure! big thx!
Thomas Garner: I've really enjoyed my experience so far at Gracie Raleigh. The coaches are all very respectful, knowledgeable and passionate. I was truly amazed at the level of detail in every instructional. My confidence as a person and as someone who can defend myself and my family has really grown since attending. The gym is kept clean and things are always in order. Everyone at the gym has been friendly and welcoming. They're building a beautiful new gym down the road, which will be opening soon. Gracie Raleigh is top notch!
Philip Lester: Just started coming here a few weeks ago. Great experience so far and overall the staff has been super helpful/welcoming. Members have a wide range of skill levels making it great to find sparring partners. Kicking pads while listening to 90s hip hop has definitely been the highlight so far.
Luis Lopez: Started at Gracie in 2017 and attended thru 2019 I'm looking forward to going back. The coaches are awesome, the people is great and always willing to help. If you want an environment where you feel welcome every time you step thru the door this is the place. Hope to start over this 2022!
Michael Raimo: Had a great time at Gracie Raleigh this past Saturday. I hadn't done Jiu-Jitsu in over 4 years and everyone was welcoming and respectful. Had a great workout and was able to refresh some old skills. Really recommend this gym to anyone who is looking to get into BJJ.
Steve Sieminkewicz: I’ve been training Jiu-Jitsu here for a couple months now and am very much enjoying my training. The coaches I’m learning from, the other students, and the gym culture are all great. There is so much to learn and I am always looking forward to the next class!
Alexander Gray: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueStarted coming to BJJ classes a month ago. Have done about ten classes so far. Love everything about the way the gym operates. The instructors remember the students even though every class is 30+ people. If you want to learn in a comfortable but structured environment from top quality coaches look no further.
Patrick Doyle: Positive:QualityAwesome gym. Really enjoyed training here. Instructors are all very high quality and it's a friendly atmosphere with some great people.
Will Reuther: After moving to NC and researching different schools in the area I landed on Gracie Raleigh, and I’m really happy I did. It’s a place where I know I can always come to focus and learn. The instructors here pull from real world experience and competition, and they know how to break down Jiu jitsu into bite sized pieces. I think the best part of this group is that you can train at whatever level you want. If you want to be competitive you can find that here, if you want to focus on your fitness or if you‘re just starting and want to try it out, you will find people that are interested in the same thing and on the same level as you. It’s an all around welcoming environment. They also have an awesome kids program here. It’s really cool to see a school that genuinely enjoys teaching younger kids about grappling/jiu Jitsu, and the parents are excited about it too.Hopefully this helps, I would definitely recommend this place!
Heather Marks: The youth program here is wonderful!
Ethan Williams: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI love training here! The atmosphere is always friendly and the variety of classes and people is sure to help with all aspects of combat sports and self defense. if your ever wanting to learn a new skill, meet great people, and get in shape i definitely recommend Gracie Raleigh.
Vytautas Smetona: Gracie fundamental classes are very beginner friendly and the coaches are very knowledgeable. Classes have a good mix of self defense techniques and sport Jiu jitsu.

Aikido of Raleigh: what do users think?
Gloria Tovar-Torres: This is my first experience learning self defense classes. Both instructors and students in this dojo are very kind. I feel like in familly. The instructors have a lot of patience and thus the most enjoyable and effective learning. A great advantage is that the class starts at 7:30 pm which gives us more time to arrive from our jobs. Thanks Aikido of Raleigh, thanks Robbie and Daniel.
D Sanders: I originally came to train karate at the dojo. The karate sensei convinced me to try aikido there shortly afterwards. It was one of the best decisions I've made. The family atmosphere made it a perfect fit for me from the beginning. The instruction is of high quality, and all of the instructors are patient with the development of their students. I would highly recommend any individual and/or family to come try a class or two!
