deborah flynn: I attempted to schedule an appointment through the online booking function, nobody got back to me in 24 hours, so I called and left a message. Nothing. So I called again and spoke with someone, confirmed an appointment less than 24 hours away, and they demanded a credit card, with which they would charge half if I didn't show up. I spoke with the owner, and shared with him a little about myself, assuring him I would be there for the appointment, and his argument was that hotels require a credit card for booking??? I said this was a haircut, less than 24 hours away, and I wasn't comfortable giving them my credit card having never been there before. He said basically go someone where else and hung up on me. I shared this story with my best friend who is a color specialist at a very upscale salon in Scottsdale, AZ, and her take was that they must have a lot of no-shows and cancellations, because they aren't skilled in customer retention and making a prospective customer feel appreciated and comfortable. Clearly. They had an opportunity to book an $80. haircut and secure a new client, but their focus is on something that could potentially go wrong in one day, rather than making certain things go right. Perhaps some customer service training is in order, but I have a feeling the owner is too important to be bothered. Shameful.
Michelle Sines: I was from out of town and chose this salon based on great reviews. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the experience that many others did. I’m not sure the stylist understood my coloring requests. My hair turned out bronzy and much lighter than I requested. I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted but she lightened it instead of darkened it. The cut turned out decent. But for a salon that raves about their color service, I was disappointed to say the least. Liz McLaughlin: Cat is absolutely the best stylist I’ve ever had! She’s the queen of blonding and balayage and I appreciate that she only recommends products I really need and are right for my hair. (I’ve had bad experiences from other stylists getting sales-pitched into things I ended up hating). I also don’t know what toning gods she channels her energy from, but I have never been this bright and cool! It also doesn’t seem to get brassy in between appointments, which I always had to treat before with a purple shampoo. 10/10, would recommend!

Blake Pohanka: There are truly not enough good things to say about Grace - I have been going to her for 2 years and she is a true master of her craft. I moved to Raleigh, from DC, shortly after having had a disaster hair experience at a salon there that turned my naturally “bronde” hair color to a heinous brassy orange. Despite my lack of knowledge of hair coloring and terrible attempts at explaining what I wanted - Grace listened to my concerns and was able to perfectly recreate my natural color with natural looking/sun lightened highlights. Since then, she has highlighted, cut, and glossed my hair and each time, it grows out beautifully and is the exact low maintenance style and natural color that I want. Suzanne Nelson: You would think a salon that charges $400 for partial highlights would value customer service. When I told my stylist my highlights were not exactly what I wanted her response was “well I like it.” She began cutting my hair with no discussion of length or what I wanted. I asked to speak to a salon manager and was told she was not in. I was later told that was a lie. After the front spoke to her they offered a refund or redo but I still never spoke to the manager. Wanted to patronise this establishment but it is clear they do not want or value me as a client. There are several places to get a $400 haircut and highlights in Raleigh. I have had my hair lightened for years and have never had such a bad result.The worst part was the customer service of the manager. Abigail Noyola: The hairstylist was nice but my hair color turned out horrible. At first it looked okay at the salon but the next day I realized it looked so orange and had big chunks of bleached hair underneath. I had to travel the next day so I ended up buying a cheap hair color from Walmart to correct it. Oh and on top of ruining my hair they charged $400 for a hair cut and color that I never got a breakdown of what they charged. Oh and they make you pay 20% tip over $200. Not returning even if they refunded.

Bailey Frank: I had Joemary do NBR extensions for me, and the whole process was amazing. She reached out several days before to make sure she knew exactly what I wanted, and created a fully customized half pink/half brown look. The day off, she decided I needed three rows instead of two and had prepared enough hair to make it happen. They whole salon was a positive, uplifting vibe and there was no shortage of drinks, snacks, and music to keep me company. Joemary talked me through the whole process and made sure I walked away knowing how to care for my extensions. Best experience I have ever had at a hair salon!

JoeMary and Kenny were super friendly and understanding and made me feel at home in the salon. When I sat in the chair JoeMary asked me what I wanted and worked with me to make sure I was happy. She is not “scissor happy” lol, she really cares about making sure her clients are happy. She gave me some clarifying treatment to lighten the load of my hair and was gentle while shampooing and brushing out my knots. Charlette Wade: Never go here. Untrue about pricing online and over the phone. Just wanted a simple trim but as a black woman there is tax everywhere. Charge a $50 consultation fee for new customers that is not advertised ANYWHERE! Can’t do natural hair trim unless charge $100+ with a black stylist on staff!!!Update: I will admit their customer service was cordial following up on my comment so one star back. But I still stand by my statement and they confirmed they did not verbally confirm the $50 consultation it was in the fine print of a waiver they have you sign at the door. You are warned now. Thankfully my card was not on file. Also they will charge you full price for a blowout just to trim your ends. So if you have curly hair just stick to your regular black beautician who knows how to price just for that service. Just hair trimming, I don’t require a full blowout. So if you are going to pay 100+ for something basic don’t go to this “diverse” salon who will charge you 160 for a blowout. I can’t be more pleased.Kim cares deeply about everything she does and I felt that in how she interacted with me in the whole process. Steven Walton: After seeing the amazing work Kim did with my wife's hair I decided to stop in for a simple trim as I am growing my hair out and it had been a few years since my last cut.Kim provided a good cut with minimal upselling all the while maintaining a cheerful attitude.
