Save yourself the time and frustration -- go elsewhere.

Shatara Hubbard: Never thought I would be racially profiled at a bank. I went to cash a specific check at this location because it was closer to my job. I don't bank with them but the teller treated me like I was committing fraud. Wasted my break time because she assumes that it must be a stolen check that has my name, address and I had a valid ID with the same address on it. I called to speak with the manager and the same person answers the phone and says the manager is on "vacation". Just sat you don't want people of color coming there.*Update* So why did I just leave the Tryon location and did not experience any issues???

Kayla Mckearin: I have been with this bank for over 10 years before it was a Truist (BB&T) I will officially be switching my bank. It’s been a long time coming, and the service has been awful and the processing is so slow. Never, ever, ever in the history of banks has a cash deposit needed an overnight processing!?!? That is the entire point of it being cash is so that it will be instantly available in the account, was with “customer service” and was disconnected 3 TIMES!!! Service couldn’t even get their own bank to answer their calls. It’s a big joke and I’m happy to be switching.
Amy McKeown: I closed my Truist checking and credit card account April 4.It is now May 19 and after multiple trips to the bank and phone calls with “customer service”, I got two emails and a letter today regarding my “overdue balance.” I went to the bank again today and the teller said he would submit my request to close the account again. That’s it, he says, that’s all he can do.Truist REFUSES to close my accounts. They cited that I had some sort of customer service agreement that was still pulling money from my account. I have been through every possible retail account and deleted every service agreement with PayPal and they are still charging me fees.The worst is that they are trying to take $100 from the nonexistent checking account to pay off a few dollars and change in “interest and fees” on my credit account. The checking account is “blocked” but not closed, so $100 withdraw bounces, resulting in an insufficient fund fee. The credit card account doesn’t get paid so the non payment and interest fees continue to accrue.I reported Truist to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and to the state Attorney General’s office. The state Attorney General’s office won’t touch it, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau says that they are still waiting to hear back from the bank.I have heard back from the bank and the answer seems to be that they simply will not close the account. Why not? Because they can practically print money from it by continuing to charge me absurd fees.All I want is to close this stupid account. I have been trying for months, but I’ve literally had to save up money for months in order to pay off the fees and move all of my transactions to a different bank. I finally paid it off April 4th and I still can’t close the account.How do I make them close my account so they stop charging me these fees and report my credit card paid off to the credit bureaus?

donna cook: Terrible customer service experience. I needed to report debit card fraud and get a temporary card. The branch was physically dirty, understaffed, and “out” of cards. If this represents Truist then I will be in my way. Never met this sort of disappointment at BB&T before.

Paul Smith: If you like BB&T do not go to this location. If you are a local business who banks with BB&T don't go here. If you need change for your local business don't go here as they never have change. If you want a fast or caring associate don't go here. By far the worst bank I've have ever been too and this includes Bank of America. Slow. Rude. Never have any change. When you call they place you on hold for an average of 6 to 10 mins. They have no problem wasting your time or gas by coming to there location with no warning that they don't have what you need. Long story short go to another BB&T if you want actual service.
Cecil D'Souza: I agree that it is the worst Bank with the worst Branch Manager. The guy does not even have the courtesy to call me back when there was a serious violation of my account and privacy. And these are the people responsible for my account and security who allowed somebody to withdraw money from my account without a valid ID and Bank card. Those two documents are with me.You would think that if the Bank had any sort of customer accountability or professionalism, or even courtesy, you'd get a call to discuss why this violation happened and how they can assure me that it will not happen again. Pathetic is not the word. I surely will send off a letter to the Corporate office letting them know what a pathetic Bank this.

Worst experience ever, suck being left out because the employee here lacks initiative, and just lacks willingness to work.Again I WANT TO REAFFIRM THAT SHE DID NOT TYPE MY INFO IN MY THE COMPUTER TO ATLEAST CHECK BY ACCOUNT INFO. I will update my review as the process goes or if anyone at the bank even cares.
Ilya Alimov: Avoid SunTrust at all costs! Find a nice local credit union to deal with. I opened a new account online and it was shut down within several days. I called at least 5 times and they could not tell me the reason why my bank account was closed and told me to go to a branch. The branch was not able to tell me why the account was closed, and told me to call 1800 number. All they tell me is that it was "due to rules and regulations" without citing a true reason.

Nathaniel Hill: My wife passed away and she has a mortgage with this bank. When I received the letter of administration documents to handle the mortgage from here, I took them to this branch and they completely refused to look at the documents or even help me. They were very non-comoassionate and acted like they didn't want to handle the issue and just wanted me out as soon as possible. Do not bank here.I would like to add that when I took these same documents to SECU. They were able to handle all of her accounts for me on the spot.Update: They finally sent some paperwork to help out that will take them weeks to process but they sent the paperwork to the incorrect address. Very incompetent.
Am Po: I had good experience with banking. They stood out during my need, especially Pinkal Kharwa, she is knowledgeable and very cooperative banker and supported my requests to work with account maintenance. I would recommend this branch of the bank for sure.

Just go to another branch. Want to make a transaction during holidays? Should of done it well in advance, no matter what situation you're in.Long story short, most of the people at this branch just don't care and it's obvious that corporate doesn't care about this branch either. Just go elsewhere.

Christina Smith: Worst customer service I've ever experienced at a bank. The tellers are rude and slow. The line was long and I had my 5 year old with me. They no longer set out the withdraw slips so I have to hold the line up with my squirming child to fill one out. Then they say I can't access my money because they have an old ID on file and I would have to sit down with a manager to fix it. I have never had this problem before and I come here every month to pay rent. I have had it with the inconvenience of SunTrust.

Praveen Sriram: Very nice tellers and a great staff but only gave 3 stars because of minimum balance and direct deposit requirements for their checking account. I closed my account and am staying with First Citizens Bank. But not too terrible since tellers and staff are courteous and friendly and my mom banks here. I would give 4 stars if they lowered their minimum direct deposit requirement from $500 to $250. This seems to discriminate against low income americans but that is typical of most banks so can't get too upset about it. Good bank but needs to improve its checking account requirements.

Stacy Howerton: They were very professional at this location and helped me open my daughter a custodial account for her to learn about money. However, no one bothered to let me know they have a minimum balance required to avoid the fees! This was for a minor! So she ended up losing money. I guess the first lesson she learned is that banks aren’t trustworthy.
Veronica Richardson: The mobile app says checks will be deposited in 24 hours. This is not true. I depostied a cashier's check at 9am and the next day, it clearly shows the deposit went through but it is not including in the balance. The bank in Cary says their "back office" was not open to complete the transaction. If the mobile is a 48 hour wait, it should state the same. In addition, how is the back office not open on a weekday? It is 2021, mobile depositing should be exactly the same turnover or LESS than traditional depositing.
Tiffany C: This location has a representative named Susan and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. Susan was both professional and polite. She explained things clearly and assisted me promptly.

David: The employees are nice but the bank itself is horrible. Online banking is a nightmare to use, avoid like the plague if you use online banking at all. Be prepared to have holds placed on your cards/accounts and being told how much of your money you can spend.

Patel Devang: Went in the morning for notary service. Agree that I took an appointment in the morning itself before I entered. When I entered in the bank, waited for more than 20 mins for someone to atleast come and ask. No one show up. one person was there and show me three to four times with cross eye but not even stood up and came to ask. I have a personal and business both accounts with PNC, luckily not this location but in different branch.DONT FORGET THAT EMPLOYEES ARE GETTING BREAD AND BUTTER BECAUSE OF OUR ACCOUNT WITH BANK.Lesson learn, always open an account in small local growing bank to get good customer service and stop providing business to this kind of arrogant people.

forrest newkirk: I went into the Branch and sat down to wait on a Personal Banker on 10-4 around 3:40pm. The personal banker was on the phone with someone which I understand. There was 1 customer that was in the Bank talking to the tellers. I sat in the chair for about 10-12 minutes and no one spoke to me at all. The personal banker walked out of her office made eye contact with me, never spoke and waited on the customer that was there which is correct. Still no one said a word to me. I sat for a couple more minutes then I left. My issue is not a person that worked there Greeted me or even said we will be right with you.

Praveen Sriram: I have a checking account here opened in June 2014 and I don't use the account much but have a fair amount of money in my Virtual Wallet account and am happy I don't get charged any fees. Took one star off since they charge you to use a teller but I guess that is because of their overhead and labor costs. First Citizens Bank is my primary bank but I am also a proud customer of PNC Bank and never had any problems bank here. Greg who is the sales manager at this location is also very friendly and amicable.

Stella Lowery: My husband passed away and when closing his account they put the cash in a envelope and handed it to me and said have a good day. No I'm sorry for your loss or anything. I go out to my car and count it because I was going to make a deposit at my bank and it was short. I went back into the bank and they said their counter is not over so they will not give the rest of what they owe on his account. Do not bank here. They are deceitful, rude and don't care about their customers. It was hard enough doing what I had to do, without being considered a liar.

Adam Ryle: Just spend an extra 8 minutes and go to the other one. I sat in the drive thru for 5 minutes waiting for assistance just to deposit a check. Someone else pulled up and was serviced immediately. Inside is closed so you must touch the buttons that dozens of people touch in the drive thru. Not very sanitary.
Erika Emm: We were greeted as we walked in the door. We needed a notary for a document and didn't have a chance to sit down before Chad was available to help. He was very friendly & thorough. I agree with the other reviews that the folks working here are fantastic! We will return.

Jeff Martin: We have had some minor challenges with the SunTrust BB&T TRUIST merger. But, today I spoke to Keona for help with our SunTrust debit card issue. She was very cordial, helpful, and thorough getting assistance when needed. Thank you for making my day!
Tammy B: I've had accounts here for over 6 years. They are always professional and friendly. I had a few issues over the years but they were always promptly addressed and they would follow up to make sure I was satisfied.
Purselmer: I don't know why, but every single time I go into this bank (at least once monthly) I have to wait. Just today, I was grudgingly greeted by the male teller. There was literally no other customers there. As I made my way to the teller area, he decided to leave. The only other teller there, a woman, was on the phone. The man went in the back area, came out with money and then put it in a counting machine. Then he wandered back over to his teller area and just sat there. And sat...and sat....we both listened to the woman on the phone. I finally left the line (no one else ever came in) and sat down in a chair. And I sat. Finally, the woman on the phone was done and asked if I needed help. No, I just come into banks to wait in line and then sit there. When I finally got up there, the man said, "I was waiting for my computer to load." A male customer came up right then and went directly to the man who had no time for me. Terrible customer service!

Amy W: I noticed a bank error on my BB&T Visa card, so I contacted the 800 number on the card to bring it to their attention. I was on hold with BB&T Visa for an hour and thirteen minutes; not exaggerating! I don't know if they were busy or had phone issues; regardless, being placed on hold even ten minutes fails in my opinion. I feel my time is worth something too, so I hung up. I then contacted our business banking representative, and got the run-around and an unaccommodating answer. Afterwards, I was so frustrated and angry that I contemplated leaving after 18 years of loyal patronage. A business partner suggested I call Jackson Bruning directly. People, save yourself the time and run around by asking for Mr. Bruning. He picked up his phone, was prompt, friendly, and helpful. He provided me the information I needed and even stated he would check on the banking transaction the following business day to make certain it was corrected. This gentleman knows how to provide customer service and goes the extra mile! He is a true asset to BB&T. I hope they treat him well, and he remains a representative with BB&T long term. I plan on looking for his assistance if I should need it again in the future. These Five-Stars go to him only. Thank you for your help, Jackson!
